I don't know about you guys but I am watching Nashville Star right now and they are all singing Madonna's like a prayer and it totally sucks, First off what is the deal with having pop night and Danity Kane performing, I thought this was suppose to be a show finding great COUNTRY singers? Wow Billy Ray is horrible and John Rich has got to be the biggest hypocrite in the universe. I'd like to hear other peoples reactions to this show, It has gotten worse over the years but this year takes the cake, I have to say I am a bit afraid of where Country music is headed.
Eh, I'm not really watching it but I did just hear some dude singing "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", heh. At least... I think it was a dude. I think Nashville Star is trying to be too commercial nowadays. I remember a couple of years ago I saw a few episodes and they were genuinely trying to find a good country singer. Now, I think they just want ratings, what with having the guy from Big & Rich, Miley's dad, and Jewel all on the show.
Plus, Danity Kane? I <3 Danity Kane but they shouldn't perform on Nashville freaking Star. How is that going to help with their target audience for one thing. Also, how many Nashville Star fans are going to watch Danity Kane and think, "Wow, I loved that!". Just my hunch, not too many. I have no problem with them having a Pop Music Night (although really, that's probably the broadest 'genre' I've ever seen on one of these shows... choose Shania!), but they don't need Danity Kane, and Danity Kane doesn't need them. They should stop with the gimmicks and just try to find a country superstar!
Wow, that's possibly the longest rant I've ever done on a show that I don't even watch regularly, but whatever.
I've not watched it since Miranda was on. She's most definetely the best thing to come out of that show by a long shot
That my friend is true. I don't see a "star" in the bunch this year. IMHO, these guys would not make it to the final 24 on Idol, well at least the single singers wouldn't. The duets and the Dixiechicks wannabees wouldn't be allowed.

Nashville Star was great for what it was - but this year they're trying to glam it up by moving it to big network TV, etc. I guess you can't fault them for trying to want more, but a lot of times when that happens it loses its original significance.

If the show had ANY credibility by producing a winner who was actually a star, it might be OK to have it be the countrified American Idol it's trying to act like now. The only only who really gives the show any credibility at all is Miranda, and she wasn't even the winner that year. If they would give us a winner that they would actually promote and that we would get to hear on the radio and see a little bit of, then maybe more people would watch it. I don't think people watch it even though it is on NBC now.
The only thing that I can't stand about the show is the freakin host!
Did ANYONE see the last show?! OMG Billy ray was talking to the contestants off of the teleprompter!!! It was sooo bad. He is the worst host in the history of hosts. Kady Cook would have been better, at least she doesnt have to look at the damn teleprompter to interview the contestants.
It was so embarassing. He was looking at the camera, reading what to say. "Whew, you've come a long way. How....has...being on the show...changed your life?" THEN he looks at the contestant. I couldnt believe how horrible he is.

I completely agree.
This is the first season I'm watching it, and I find myself bored most of the time. I don't even know why I keep watching it, probably cause nothing else is on lol. There's a few that I like, but nobody sticks out that much.
