As several of you know here, I have a disease...that's ok...I can live with it...after all what choice do I have....hehehe I have some ok days and some really bad days and that's ok too. I have, however found a new doctor and I absolutely love him!!!! No insurance...yet...am working on it because of my new doctor...I thought all roads were closed to me, however they aren't. WOO HOO!!!! My doc gave me all kinds of samples (3 months worth of meds I need in order to be able to breathe). Also, he gave me a bunch of samples of meds for my migraines that are so severe that I just want to bang my head against the wall - and when they last 5-7 days each, it is very hard and I had nothing to take. Well, my new doc solved that for me!!!! WOO HOO!
Then, my old laptop was INFECTED! I knew it was, however I was sick and didn't have the energy to go shopping. Well, I felt so much better yesterday that I went...got my WONDERFUL Geek (he's awesome) and he and the laptop specialist worked side by side with me for several hours until I got just the right one. I took my old laptop in, of course, and my Geek opened it and said immediately it's INFECTED. So, we went from there. My Geek and his "computer specialist" explained everything to me and were very patient with me because I started to get really tired...but we persevered. I got my laptop...best security out there...Geek 24/7 service for 2 years (I never get this, however my circumstances have changed) because if I can't come in to the store, they will come to my apartment and do whatever I need done, i.e., downloads, anything.
Then, I also had my Geek FIX my old laptop (I won't have it back until Wednesday at the earliest). The are going to wipe the slate on it, install what they need to. Also, as some of you know, my youngest son (22) is the BEST KID EVER...he's always there for me and makes sure I'm ok ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!! He doesn't have a car, so he's walked 6.6 miles round trip (in the hottest of hot to the coldest of cold and snow and that cold north Oklahoma wind that cuts right through you) to my apartment to get me something to eat or our sweet, sweet 20 year old kitty food (prescription food from the Vet), and much more. And, remember, he bought tickets to take me to Carrie's concert here in Tulsa and is going with me because he would NEVER let me go alone, especially because of my circumstances.
There were 2 things I wanted with my back pay for my disability (this was BEFORE my laptop became infected and I just wanted an iPhone...selfish of me): an iPhone and a new laptop. I splurged on those because I wanted to have something that pleases me...maybe I'm wrong in doing that, however that is all I wanted. My sweet son got me tickets to Carrie or that would have been another thing I would have wanted...sorry if that offends anyone.
All I know is when one door closes, another opens!!!!!!!! That's the way I believe and I'm so very thankful I have my boy here in the same town and he looks after me; and my parents, who also live in the same town, however they go in their motorhome to TX every year and are gone from October to April. That's ok --- I LOVE IT -- they have a blast -- they have all their doctors down there too and love them (they have all their doctors here too when they are home). They've been married 57 years and are so cool. My Dad will be 10 years clean from colon cancer on Nov. 21 -- what a special day for our family and friends. My Mom has had 3 stints and almost died during one of them (before surgery started). My Dad is 77 and my Mom is 76 I was born 1 year and 10 days after their special special marriage. I could go on about my most awesome baby brother (he'd die if he knew I said that...hehehe), my oldest son, and 2 grandkids, but I won't bore you anymore.
You all just don't know how much you mean to me!! I've made so so many friends here!!!! I love all of you! Thank you so much!!
Love,
~Ann <3 <3

Thanks for the up-date, take care of you.
Thank you so much my friends! I'm getting better...I just had no meds for a year and a half...that's the way it goes -- BUT I HAVE IT NOW!!! WOOT WOOT!
Now, I'm trying to figure out this laptop - Windows 8 and I had Windows 7 Professional -- just the way you get to things - like a big one - finding the Windows Icon in order to get to a site you want to get to -- like here...twitter...the screen looks like touch, but it's not. I'll figure it out, by gosh - I just got it a few hours ago...so I just need to settle down and I'll get it - frustrating because I've never had trouble w/computers before...there's a first for everything and there's a reason for that, so I'll figure it out.
I've got to tackle tweeting on my phone - I've tweeted some...un peu...like a few, but I still can't find everything on there. I'll just settle down - can't do everything at once...I'm learning that...kind of a perfectionist all my life, so I'll just do what I can when I can! That's cool and I CAN DO THAT!
I will begin posting again real soon because, at least for the moment....hehehe....I have twitter up on my laptop....hahaha...so better get to it and go to that page and see if there is anything new...LOL
Thanks again, guys...I post because I love it...I love finding things about Our Girl...but I am TAKING YOUR ADVICE GLENN, I'M TAKING CARE OF ME!!!!!!! Cassie, Robin, Gator, Jess, Glenn -- you are all AMAZING!!!!! Thanks again.

Aww! I'm glad you're being optimistic. What's the difference between Windows 8 and 7? I haven't seen the new 8 yet.
I know you'll kick your illness's ass, Ann. Pft. That's a non-issue.

Glad that you are feeling better, Ann.
Windows 8 is used on the tablet but also is the front end of the PC windows platform. My understanding is that you can get to the "old" windows 7 stuff with one click. Let us know how it goes Ann.
We love you Ann! Love the great news!![]()
Well, I for one am glad to see you again! I have kept you in my prayers that you would feel better. I am so glad that you got the medical help you needed. I also know that you will conquer the iphone and the new laptop - it is good for us who are "older" than some of these young kids on here to learn new things so that we keep our minds sharpLOL!!!! So good to have you back!!!!!! (especially with the CMAs coming on Thurs!)
Ann, glad to hear you are feeling better now. I saw Window 8 on QVC and wish I waited to buy one; bought a new laptop last November and the hard drive went and had to have it fixed. Wish I did what you did and took it the Geeks because I had to wait two weeks to be fixed (had to send it back to Dell); the only good thing is I went out and bought an iPhone too.
Good to have you back Ann.
Thanks guys...you are all too kind and I consider you ALL my friends!!!
Love you all,
~Ann
I know that part, but I don't have a tablet (or an ipod for that matter). In any event, my laptop was showing I wasn't connected to the net...I was when the Geeks did it... but in any event, I finally called and the poor girl at Uverse had no clue about Windows 8 or this computer or one like it, so after a long long time, I finally asked for a supervisor...I was on hold for 25 minutes before the supervisor came on the phone (I had already been either talking to the girl or on hold for 20 minutes) -- the supervisor was very nice, but he didn't have a clue either - he said they aren't familiar with Windows 8 yet. In any event, after trying many things, he finally found where I should click and get to the right place and then it took several tries there to get it to work, but we made it. WOOT WOOT! He really tried and was very nice, so I will be writing a letter in support of him and his service.
I didn't take it back to the Geeks because I was just too tired and I didn't want to push myself too hard too fast. So, after this long story...I was trying to do what Glenn said and take care of myself.
P.S. I called Uverse because I thought that the connection wasn't working since my other computer & my TV is all hooked up through them. Oh well...doesn't matter...finally got a really nice young man who helped me and it's all fixed!!!!!! I'll figure it out...at least I can tweet with my friends and participate here with my friends. I'd say that's a WIN!!!!!!!!
Windows 7, including Windows 7 Professional, because that's what I had. ?????
I do like Windows 8 so far...I just am trying to maneuver myself around it because like I said, I don't have a tablet so that is like way different. No worries...it will be GREAT!
Thank you so much Suellen for letting me know about this! I so appreciate it!!!![]()
Ann, I had the same problem when I bought my laptop and could not get into the internet; I had to call Dell and they did something on their end. I don't have a tablet either and would have a hard time using it. When I bought my iPhone I had to go back to Sprint 3/4 times before I knew what I was doing.
Happy to hear you are taking Glenn's advise and resting.
