my lightning season tickets came in the mail today..... im crying inside
Mike was quoted as saying that hockey was his passion but it wasn't his whole life. He said he was going to train, do a little traveling with his wife, and do some fishing. Somebody went off on that as well. It's not like either one of them have much control of the situation. Why do people think there is something wrong with finding the silver lining and making the best of it? You've got to wonder about the owners thinking. In what business model is it a good idea to tick off all of your eployees and customers at the same time?
ugh...reading about replacement players on twitter.... um NO! whether real or not um no!
I didn't pay all those thousands to watch replacement players Lightning! I want Vinny, Marty, Stammer, Bugsy, Salo, Carle, Hedman and all the rest of them not some crappy ECHL players!
I better get my money back anyway guys for those games because I did NOT buy tickets to see replacement players and if I don't get my money back I still WONT watch the games.... I'm just gonna hold a protest outside the forum for each game wearing my custom made season ticket holder jersey!
Can the lockout please be over now? I miss hockey.
Red Wings' Henrik Zetterberg agrees to join Swiss team
Zetterberg signs with a Swiss team. He's been one of the most vocal high-profile players negotiating on behalf of the NHLPA. Writers seem to think this indicates the lockout is nowhere close to resolution.
Zetterberg, who turns 32 on Tuesday, said as late as last week that he wasn't eager to go anywhere. During the lockout in 2004-05, he played for his old club in Sweden. But that wasn't an option this time around because he has $50 million left on his contract, requiring heavy insurance.
He said he'd only consider a place in Europe where neither the insurance nor the taxes would be devastating.
Like all the NHL players going overseas to play, Zetterberg has an out clause, but his decision to go through all the trouble of insuring himself and his contract and the hassle of setting up in a new place is a pretty good indication that the NHL labor dispute is going to drag on.
I am still going with a 42 game, start of the season in January as a best case scenario.
I'm just going watch curling and wait it out
NHL offers 50/50 split in revenue, no rollback in order to preserve 82-game season | Puck Daddy - Yahoo! Sports
This is a really good move by the owners, now if things don't get done the fans will lean towards blaming the players more than blaming the owners.
neither side understands how to work this out
Yes players I agree you should be paid the contracts you were written... I totally agree but you won't so for the love of god please try and get the best deal you can and agree to the owners escrow payback because you aren't gonna get your contracts now.
that being said for the love of god owners agree to slowly move down to 50/50 with something like 54/46, 52/48, 50/50 in 3 years and pay back the players over time like your plan proposed....
really i think this is the best we will get... and once again I'm really sad and mad at ALL involved in this
Losing two whole seasons in less than 10 years would be beyond stupid for everyone involved.
