^ yay another pistons fan! haha how far do you think they could go this year?
hm. they still seem to be learning how to work Iverson in, on both offense and defense. so the jury is still out. im not a huge fan of the current starting lineup with Stuckey, AI, rip, tay and sheed... its really small and we werent a great rebounding team to begin with.

But. GO MAGIC!!!! ESPN refuses to believe we're for real! Please, don't start doubting one of my teams again...remember last time that happened?

They've definitely been improving in these last few games. They've won 8 of their last 9 and 5 straight. I knew it would take awhile for things to gel together with the addition of AI, not only because it's a new player but they were all so used to playing with Chauncey for SUCH a long time. In AI's first game, it was against NJ. Harris lit us up for 38 points & the Nets beat us...not by a lot, but they beat us. And today, a month later, the Pistons were able to hold on to beat the Nets & held Harris to only 19 points. So not only is the defense improving, but the chemistry is finally coming back together again. The fact that we were without McDyess, Sheed, AND Rip and were still able to win is a sign of good things to come.
AI hasn't been playing as many minutes as he's used to, and I think that will help us in the long run. He said the other day that he doesn't feel tired or worn out after games. That's going to be HUGE come April.
As far as the lineup goes, I love having Stuckey there. He's the future of the team, so why not start the future now? I really like the guy and he seems to really know how to handle the guys on the court. Another thing, the Pistons are 8-3 since McDyess has been back. We were struggling SO much in that time span where Chauncey was gone & AI was getting used to everyone, but I truly believe the main reason is because McDyess wasn't here. He's such a difference maker & there really is no one else like him in this league. He has the perfect mix of talent, drive, heart, determination, & leadership. I feel so lucky to have him.

Hopefully by the time the playoffs roll around they will be settled in, but they still look like the same old streaky Pistons from when Flip was the coach.
They look great for a month, lousy for a week, back to being really good and back to looking bad.
They can't rebound to save their lives, awful rebounding team.

Whew, long post.
im just not sure how viable that lineup is. I do agree that Stuck should be starting, but something is off with the chemistry, to me. Rip has missed the past 3 games, so im curious to see how the team does when he returns. is the streak a byproduct of AI finally getting itegrated, or better chemistry in the lineup without Rip. i know it sounds weird, but with Amir Johnson in the lineup, the rebounding and interior defense has improved.
i agree with you about Dice though. he is our most reliable interior defender and rebounder

I think the problem with Rip is that he's still not used to AI. I know it's been awhile, but for 6 straight years he's been with Chauncey. They didn't even have to look at eachother but they could pass it without a problem. I don't think there were any 2 guards in the league with more chemistry than Chauncey & Rip. I don't think Rip will ever have that kind of connection with another guard again, but if him & AI can capture half of what he & Chauncey had, then I think we'll be alright.

When it comes to the NBA, my biggest pet peeve is when a team can't rebound. At the end of the game, it's the rebounds that matter the most. On the offense, it gives you another chance. On the defense, it takes that chance away from your opponent. It's SO frustrating when they don't get a rebound.

Boston killed them on the boards in the playoffs last year.
Start a new fashion, wear your heart on your sleeve.

I'm so excited, FINALLY going to my first Celtics game of the season tomorrow (snowstorm ruined my plans to go a couple weeks ago!). It's against the Wizards... hopefully an easy win but they're making me nervous with their 3 recent losses haha.
It's still so surreal to me that they're finally GOOD. Last season was the oddest thing ever for me because I have been to at least 20-25 Celtics games in my life as my uncle & friend have seasons tickets, but the Garden has been so dull & half-empty until last year and the energy in that place now is incredible.

yup. the 2 of them had such a chemistry and rip hasnt been the same since. i mean, rip would run through all those screens and run those curls and Chauncey will hit him in stride with a pass. when it worked it was a thing of beauty...
