New Album Info - Set to be Released in the Spring!

I am going with a mid-April release. Anything before April seems too soon for me.

Okay I am going with March 27th as the album release date! Now if they would just come on already with the lead single!

Tue. March 6th for Carrie's B/D week, hoping!!!! I agree, April 1st is ACM's, Carrie performs new single and gets huge boost in Album sales, so 3/27 is good too!!!.

My excitement for this album just keeps on escalating!

I especially like that part where Carrie said the album seemed to want the darker songs so she went with those. Sounds like this album will be totally different from the previous ones, we're gonna side of Carrie.

I wonder if we'll ever know which song on the album was the one that elicited that reaction from Carrie. Looking forward to the album promotions, specifically the interviews lol.

So the dark song that gave carrie goosebumps is not a cowrite. Intetesting! I wonder if it is the gordie sampson song he mentioned was for carrie? Or shapiro or lori mckenna?

She said the album is tempo driven with very few ballads so i bet this dark song is one of the ballads. I cannot imagine a dark song thatis upbeat and tempo driven. Lol

Also carrie has 2 black cadillacs and gone too soon as cowrites. So this is getting good!

It's true that the majority of dark songs are slower (think Ode to Billy Joe, one of my fav songs of all time), but songs like That's the Night That The Lights went out in Georgia (Vicki Lawrence), Fancy (Bobbie Gentry), or Goodbye Earl (Dixie Chicks). All dark songs, all tempo driven!

I bet the cmt crossroads is with steve tyler which will rock! But i hope it is with all if aerosmith!

Aerosmith has a new album coming out this year, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's the entire band.

other then the live audience which is much bigger, it still only airs live on CMT.
Wish the network would pick it up.

Well if I recall last year's event correctly, it was a pretty big deal!!! The audience was HUGE and there was mention made of the event on other shows.

I read about this at MJ's this morning. I'm even more excited about this album now. I love how Carrie is describing the songs as darker with regards to the story. I think she is more than capable of handling heavier material, so it will be nice to see her show the world that. I love that her duet experiences have been learning moments for her, and that she has used the experiences to help herself grow as an artist. I think her own music will be better because of the other musical experiences she has had in the past year.
Just to weigh in on the darker songs being the ballads: I don't necessarily think that is the always the cause. I think lyrically dark songs can be more mid to uptempo in some cases. Rock music has many songs that are of darker subject matter, yet are still heavier in sound. It sounds as though there may be several dark songs, so maybe we are getting both darker ballads and darker uptempos...the best of both worlds in a way .
