I am praying for WCIS to be the next single, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up. If it hadn't already been submitted for a Grammy nod, I'd be convinced it were the next single. As it currently stands, I really have no idea what direction they're planning on going in, but I have a nagging feeling they're going to go with Quitter.
At this point, I'll be happy w/ any song. I just want a new single![]()
I thought this would be appropriate to post here. Comments about Carrie's next single from blog writer Matt B:
(Note: I know it's hard for us Carebears to ignore the error in the song tittle!)
"For Jonathan who mentioned “Quitter,” From what I know of the album’s next single, it will be that one."
"JoJo, that’s what I saw and heard but I guess nothing definitive has been released yet. I bet Carrie’s pushing for “What I Cannot Say” instead of “Quitter,” which the label may want. What I Cannot Say” features Sons of Sylvia and I know she really wants to help them gain more exposure. The funny thing is despite the more sunny, uptempo vibe of “Quitter,” “What I Cannot Say” might have a better shot at crossover success."
Oddly enough, that's also how I feel about pushing for WCIS as a single. We know how passionate Carrie is about releasing songs that are personal to her ("Mama's Song," "Don't Forget To Remember Me," "Temporary Home"), so I wouldn't be surprised if Carrie is pushing for SOS harder than we think.![]()
^ Well, if that is the case and the single announcement is taking longer because Carrie is pushing for WCIS, then all I can say is take all the time you need, Carrie!![]()
Sounds like he's makin' an assumption.
^^^If he is making an assumption, then I sure like it!![]()
Let this next single be WCIS! I haven't been so set on a wish for a single like this since IKYW in the CR era, and once before with SWG in the SH era, and those didn't turn out all too well. Hopefully third times a charm!![]()
SWISLY, WCIS are the best singles on the album. I will be happy w/ either. Quitter, LAM would be my second choice after that. However I will be happy w/ whatever of those songs are released.
Ive never wanted a single this badly! It NEEEEEDDDSS to be WCIS its so amazing!
I hope they announce the next single before the ACM announcements. Otherwise, it's going to be a very long week!
I would think it's still going to be awhile before her label makes an annoucement about a new single. It seems like the pattern Carrie's label follows is to release a new single every 3-4 months, no matter how fast the song peaks. It's hard to say though; according to Carrie's wiki page, PO singles were released 3-4 months apart with the expection of "Undo It," which shows a gap from Dec. 14 until the end of May.
That said, I would be surprised if she sang MS at the ACM's, considering its peak was a few months before. I wouldn't think a new single would be annouced before the show, but possibly a few weeks before. If Artista follows the 3-4 month pattern, that would put us at a new single around April, which is around the time of the ACM's.
Also, I know a lot of fans seem to think Wiki named "Change" as a single, but I saw it as something they listed as a single simply because of the IGB connection/download, not because it's being released as a radio single. Just a thought...
^im pretty sure you are mistaken, unless i am reading your post wrong
CC peaked in early-mid nov and TH was officially released on Dec 14th i think, but was announced a few feeks prior to that
TH peaked right before the ACMS and UI was released a few weeks after
then UI peaked in Aug and MS was announced a few weeks after
LOL, if you look up Play On's Wikipedia page right now, it lists What Can I Say in the box (where all of the other single's release dates are) on the right hand side of the page...maybe they are waiting until Mama's Song is off the charts completely to make the next single annoucement...
^ha thats fine...idk how accurate my memory is though lol
and thanks!
i dont know if this has been posted yet, but i saw on the pulse music boards that MS is the last single from PO.
