according to dudley on pulse, Good Enough for Me and I was gonna Love You were registered during CR. the other 4 are new, co-written by Carrie with Ashley Monroe and Katrina Elam. For those unaware, Elam actually wanted to record FOTF before Carrie and wrote a blog lashing out against her old label when she lost FOTF to Carrie.
I WAS GONNA LOVE YOU, LIE TO ME AGAIN, LORD HELP ME
these 3 sound like they can be about the previous boyfriends. come on carrie, tell all!
Actually she did record this on her 2nd album, which was never released!
***Sorry Cary, didn't see you post, but yeah, it is very interesting that they are collabrating now. To be honest, i don't really like these title. Lie to me again sounds lie BHC...I want her to do something different, when she did last name it was almost a backlash because ppl felt that she as trying to repeat BHC. I want this to album to be the best and different!!!!
Actually, Katrina Elam did record FOTF and it even got some airplay and charted for a few weeks. But the album project was killed and as you said, Katrina wrote a very angry blog about the fact that the song went to Carrie (though Carrie's name was never mentioned in the blog). So it is very interesting that they are now collaborating.
It sounds so much like Carrie to befriend someone that at the very least thought FOTF was her song! It looks like maybe Ashley got them together and they hit it off. This could be very interesting no dougt about it! Posted via Mobile Device
I love the idea that 3 females are writing together! I wonder what 3 chicks will come up with together? I bet it will be awesome! Usually, there is a male writer with Carrie and perhaps Hillary Lindsey, etc. This is going to be very interesting.
Personally, "Lord Help Me" has great possibilities. I see it as an upbeat country rock song...similar to FOTF, LN or BHC, etc. Great title!
"Lie to Me Again" also sounds like a power chic song...
"Sugarush" sounds like a fun upbeat song written when the girls had just eaten chocolate or cookies or something. lol

i always thought she was angry about the fact that the song went to someone else, and i didnt think it was anything personal against Carrie. i mean, she would have been angry if it was Mickey Mouse who got FOTF. getting an album project cancelled had to be very frustrating and she was angry about how her career was going
May you always have
enough happiness to keep you sweet;
enough trials to keep you strong;
enough success to keep you eager;
enough faith to give you courage;
and enough determination to make each day a good day!"

Wow. I'm surprised about FOTF.
I have the songbook for CR, so I know how haaard it is to sing FOTF, &trust me: it's reeeeaaaaally hard. Where was I? Oh, yeah. Well, considering how strangely complicated that song turned out, I think we're gonna have yet another complicated song on our hands if Elam is collaborating with Carrie. &knowing Carrie, it'll be really good.
I was wondering.... at this time before CR was released and we were collecting potential song titles, of the tracks that ended up on the album, which ones had we already heard about?

This is another GREAT INDICATOR THAT CARRIE REALLY WANTS TO DIVERSIFY AND BRANCH OUT!!! These are young songwriters IN CONTRAST WITH veteran songwriter Bill Anderson. Not only that Carrie is collaborating with THE PROFESSIONAL SONGWRITERS WHO HAD PREVIOUSLY SUPPLIED HER WITH INFECTIOUS ANTHEM SONGS, Carrie is collaborating with the traditionalists, hip hop songwriters, pop songwriters, rock songwriters and young contemporary songwriters.
In Carrie's Third Album Planning Process, CARRIE TRANSFORMS "FANS' POINT OF VIEW" and "A WIDE RANGING SONGWRITERS' STYLES OF MUSIC" into "A PHENOMENAL INFORMATION RESOURCES" in order to produce "A VERY SUPERIOR MARKETABLE PRODUCT - THE THIRD ALBUM"!!!
This is "A SYSTEMATIC COLLECTION AND ORGANIZATION OF SONG IDEAS" and the SONG IDEAS originate from the "MOST VARIED SOURCES OF SONGWRITERS WITH CARRIE UNDERWOOD COLLABORATION". THIS KIND OF INTEGRATION OF SONG IDEAS IS "HIGHLY VALUABLE"!!! PHENOMENAL ALBUM PLANNING PROCESS!!!
YOU ARE IN A PHENOMENAL DIRECTION, CARRIE!!! DO NOT RUSH THE ALBUM!!! I KNOW YOU ARE A "PERFECTIONIST"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, she probably realized that Carrie didn't make the decision who got the song.
It is my dream that Carrie will sing this very beautiful Charlie Chaplin's song for all her fans at her concerts someday and she perhaps will record this song someday !!

You know, having Katrina Elam's name on the songwriting credits will give her a share of the royalties every time one of those songs is performed. If one of those songs is picked and goes as big as "Flat On The Floor" it would give her a very sizeable income.
This looks like Carrie and Ashley giving her a boost to make up for disappointment over FOTF and the two record deals she lost. They didn't have to do that, and it makes me love those two all the more.
