Hi guys and girls, im looking to buy a new digital camera, not looking to spend a fortune, just wondered if anyone has any recommendations?

I have a Canon Powershot a620, and I LOVE IT! It's the best camera I've ever had! The zoom is incredible, ahaha!

i had a Canon Powershot SD1000 i think and it was pretty good. im sure you'll probably get a newer model though.

I was looking for a new camera too. On one of the thread's here JeffreyJBJB posted his pics from the FC party and he was in the second to last row at the opry. Take a look at this thread if you want to see the pics that his Canon EOS Rebel XS took cuz you might also want to check this camera out too... not bad for seond to last row.

As a side note for the person who started this threads. Kodak's are horrible in my opinion, they're just a basic camera... and the program that comes with it for your computer SUCKS.

^I'll admit the program of Kodak sucks, but I love the way my camera works. Just a recommadation. Oh, and it's at a cheap price too... I got mine for $219 or something.

I had a Nicon anf a kodak and liked the kodak much better. Normal picture taking was much better. My kodak does not have a good enough zoom for concerts though.

what would you guys recommend for a zoom? 4x or more?

Be sure you know the "optical" zoom. It is different than the toal zoom because "digital" zoom looses image quality.

4 isn't enough for concerts.

^Im pretty sure my A620 is only a 4x zoom, then goes to 16x. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the 4x and digital zoom with this camera at all. It still comes out clear as day. It depends on the camera, I woudn't use anything besides my camera for a concert.

I have used the Canon Powershot S5 IS and have always loved it.
I bought this camera because it has HD video (720p)
I havent taken alot of pics yet but from what i have they seem to be better than my Canon. Guess the real test will be a Carrie Concert..
Big bonus is that it is alot smaller and alot lighter than the canon.
I dont have any pics online but here are a couple videos I took recently. Make sure you click on the HD box.. If you click on the blue box at the top it will take you to the Youtube site where the video is much bigger. The lighting wasnt the best in this place but it still looks pretty good..
