I loved DL but won't be surprised if she's not nominated. She should be because she always gives one of the top 5 performances every year regardless.I really hope Carly Pearce gets a nom too.

    is The Fighter eligible?

^ The Fighter was submitted last year oddly and snubbed. It wasn’t even a single yet though so I wish they had waited to submit it. It has much more buzz now. It went platinum and no1 etc.

I just wish we had something concrete to look forward to in terms of new music etc. It is so dang quiet.

I figured she wouldn't be nominated, so I'm not too worried. I hope she can have a new single ready by then to debut on the show, but that's probably pushing it.

BLABR is an abomination to all music and somehow got 2 nominations? How is that possible? It is quite possibly the worst song country music has ever seen, and if it isn't the worst it is really close to the top.

Shocked "The Weight of These Wings" is not nominated! That's a total snub in that category in my opinion.

Also, I'm happy that Reba got a nomination in best Gospel Roots Album! Hope she wins.

Overall, though, I am quite surprised by the nominations, a lot seem really strange and out of left field.

So what's the batting average of Paul Grein with his predictions for this?

The most shocking thing to me is Ed Sheeran was shut out of the general categories. I thought "Divide" would win Album of the Year and "Shape of You" was a lock for a Record of the Year nomination, if not win. He was robbed, especially for his incredible album.

I can't stand rap so these nominees are horrific to me. Guess I'll be pulling for Bruno Mars, although my excitement for the Grammys has now completely died.

Also surprised Harry Styles was shut out. "Sign of the Times" was a masterpiece and his album was great as well.

I was happy to see Midland get a couple of nods.

The Weight of These Wings is the most overrated album ever!

    Happy for Despacito nominations!

You might think it's overrated because you aren't a fan of hers, but it was very cohesive and had a strong theme across both discs. By all accounts it should have been a nominee, really surprising.

I think the Grammy's tried to make up for the cries of racism they have had the last few years, by nominating more artists of color, and "urban" acts. Plus, Hip Hop and Rap have been a dominate genre across music the last year, so the nominations I think are reflecting that.

Love that Alison Krauss got a Country Solo nom btw. I think Alison and Chris are the frontrunners for this category (it better not be Sam Hunt lol)

So the Sony era is over and done now for sure. I hope she shakes things up a bit. I've heard that she is leaning towards the inspirational, but it needs to be attention gabbing too. Could be they are going to use the new song for the super bowl as their start of the new era, new single, new album....

No, I think is overrated because it is overrated, not even WME could give it a win at the CMA's and the Grammys are not here for it either.

Your opinion is it's overrated, and that's fine. Mine is that it is not, and that's fine. But I'd bet you probably thought it would be nominated, right? Whether you like it or not, it almost seemed a lock.
