He's a strong, rising talent. Miranda Lambert is a big fan of Charlie's music, and has encouraged his career. He's been an opener for some of her concerts, and has the same producers here (Frank Liddell and Eric Masse). Some of the songwriters who worked on "The Weight of these Wings" have also collaborated on Charlie's album. He's also a friend and former co-student of Madi Diaz, who worked on the closing vocal chorus of "Vice". I'd recommend anyone interested in the current trend towards edgy Progressive Country singer-songwriting to check out Charlie's work.

Rolling Stone have another good article focusing on the current mismatch between radio airtime, and the range of strong music being explored in the wider genre. It's an issue affecting both male and female artists whose often more introspective and challenging work falls short of radio's priorities for often pop flavoured catchy "ear worms" and chorus-driven lyrics

Inside Charlie Worsham's Vulnerable New Album - Rolling Stone

Miranda Lambert, as I said, has championed Charlie, and she tweeted in support of the theme of this article:
"Charlie you inspire me . I'm proud we are sharing a boat. Truth will win always. Keep tellin' yours."

Charlie Worsham has won critical praise, and considerable interest from fans, with an album that bares his heart and soul - but is also a far remove from most of the material that the current male chart toppers find no difficulty in filling the airwaves with. I would never argue that the Mainstream should not play what is popular, and I know that those chart artists have many fans. They themselves, and their right to be played, are not the problem. But there is a real problem when a format that calls itself "Country radio" is not willing to find room for both, and represent a wider range of the genre. There is a growing discrepancy between the narrow repetitive playlists of corporate terrestrial radio, and both the satellite services and the internet blogs and streaming services. Radio will only have itself to blame if it continues to decline - and Music Row will face a situation where its emphasis on manipulated volumes of repeat spins, for limited numbers of hits, increasingly fails to translate into record sales
