When I first heard the snippet of Adele's single I immediately thought of Lionel Richie's hello because she sings "hello" the same way he does. And now to find out she actually called the song "Hello" to. lol.

Anyway, I love that she's releasing the single the same day as Carrie's album. It will bring lots of people to iTunes who will see Carrie's Storyteller banner. So it's all good. : )

Just listened to the new single. Need to hear it a few more times to form a solid opinion, but so far, after this long wait, I'm feeling a bit underwhelmed.

Will be interesting to see if she can beat Ole Swiftie's opening week sales for 1989.

What? Adele has a new song out...I'm sorry, I didn't realize it because there is this amazing new album called Storyteller that is blowing up my speakers. Kidding, though. I am excited to hear the new song. It will just have to wait until I'm tired of listening to Storyteller.

Carrie could release Chaser and Relapse and be the new Adele, lol. Seriously, though.

Exactly... I feel like Chaser and Relapse are more "Adele" than "Hello"

^^^^^^^^LOL-----funny!!!!! I usually like Adele's songs and I like this one also but I am not overjoyed with it. Not as good as some of her other songs. I think the hype is mostly about it being 3 years since her last song. When I listened to the song I also thought about how some say that Carrie is screaming at times and that could also apply to Adele. Both have amazing vocals and can hit the high notes effortlessly. I think Carrie has the broader range though. I spent all my extra cash on Carrie (she is #1 for me) and I won't be buying Adele's song or album.

^ I think the difference is that Carrie's songs tend to have loud production, and sometimes it feels like she has to be loud just to be heard over it. That may give the impression that she's screaming/shouting. With minimal production on Adele's song, people get to just marvel at the sheer power, tone and class of her voice.

The opening lines of Hello alone makes it perfect as her comeback single.

Already sold 325k in US alone in one day.

    Absolute slayage!

I'm glad Carrie isn't in pop, else she will be overshadowed/blocked by Adele on so many charts in 2016 lol

Taylor's VEVO record has already been snatched. R.I.P. Taylor!

TBH, I live and breathe Taylor, but I'm glad Bad Blood lost that record. Hate the song, hate the video, hate the promotion, hate the concept, hate the hair. Everything about it needs to die and Bad Blood needs to be forgotten. A blight on her legacy.

Also the Adele v. Taylor thing is really heating up (only among the fanbases and online media, of course).

To me Taylor is way better than Adele. I mean, of course Adele has a better voice (Carrie's voice is better than Adele's though) but Taylor's music is much more interesting. Taylor keeps reiventing herself, Adele is always the same. Her music bores me.

maybe it's listening to Carrie's stellar music that makes me indifferent to this new song
