Who are you listening to now?

During these long stretches between Carrie's studio albums I need other things to listen to. I have so much country music that I can't listen to it by genre b/c it's like 800 or 900 songs so I have to break it apart in playlists according to new music I get or what I like to listen to together.

Recently I have been listening to a playlist composed of:
    Maggie Rose (Cut To Impress)
    Tami Neilson (Dynamite!)
Mandy Barnett (I Can't Stop Loving You)
Lee Ann Womack (The Way I'm Livin')
Matraca Berg (The Dreaming Fields) [Thanks to Farawayhills for the recommendation]
    LeAnn Rimes (Lady & Gentlemen)
    Trisha Yearwood (Jasper County)
Trisha Yearwood (Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love)
    and of course...
    Carrie Underwood (SIIW, LTG)

I don't know why I like this mix of music together. Matraca Berg's album and say Tami Neilson couldn't sound more different but for some reason these albums come together for me to form a stimulating and gratifying listening experience.

Who are you listening to right now?

I have Ultraviolence and Born to Die but have not even listened to them once yet b/c I have been on this country music spree but I'm looking forward to getting around to that. I have The Highway and Here With Me by Holly Williams and enjoy both.

Ultraviolence and Born to Die are good cds. I recently discovered Lana on this site :-) Yes those two Holly cds are so great. I have Here With Me as well. I love the stripped down honesty in Alone. I felt like listening to Lana and Agnes for something different, because I have been listening to country for a while. You might like Agnes Obel if you like the piano. She is great writer and pretty voice well to me anyway.

I love Alone. Thank you for the recommendation of Agnes Obel. I'm always looking for new music. My mom asked me today how I find female country music when they don't play any on the radio. It's a good question.

I like discovering new music as well. That's one good thing about the internet. You can discover a lot of very talented artists. I have discovered a lot through the internet. I found out about one artists by clicking her video and thinking she was someone else haha Just to let you know Agnes music can be mellow. I know some people don't like Mellow so i'm letting you know. A couple of her songs on both her cds are her playing just the piano. I really like the piano so I don't mind. Here are some from her different cds.
