Is this the end for the Civil Wars?

Sadly this innovative and exciting duo of singer/songwriters look to have a reached a point where they can no longer continue touring (at least for the present)
    They have issued this statement:

"We sincerely apologize for the canceling of all of our tour dates. It is something we deeply regret. However, due to internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition, we are unable to continue as a touring entity at this time. We thank each and every one of you for your amazing love & support. Our sincere hope is to have new music for you in 2013. - Joy Williams & John Paul White.
PS - We understand that there are many of you stuck with service charges and travel reservations due to our abrupt cancelations. Please email us at info@thecivilwars.com if there are costs incurred that you would like to be reimbursed for, include a scan or attachment to your receipt(s) of the costs, and we will do our best to reimburse you for non-refundable charges.

Fans may take some hope from the statement that they may have new music in 2013 - but the point about internal dscord and differences of ambition sounds worrying.

If their differences are irreconcilable then how could they have music in 2013 unless they mean separately maybe?

So much for the big tent of New Country Music. Sorry no room for folk music, goodby Civil Wars, No room for bluegrass except for Alison Krauss & Union Station, good by Nickel Creek. Civil Wars' notice is very familiar to the one made by Nickel Creek in 2006. It's sad that this so called Tent can hold New County , which includes some of Carrie's songs as well as the rock of Jason and Eric, and also TS's brand of pop, but is shrinking space for traditional country music, let alone any folk crossover or Bluegrass or even Newgrass, which is hell of a lot closer to mainstream country than TS's poptastic waste of auditory neurons. ...grumble .....

This has nothing to do with that. This was internal. One comment on their announcement was that it had to do w/ management. Could it be that upon the duo's CMA nomination that their management/label wanted to see them go further into Country music? Hmmm...

If they do end up reimbursing people, I have to say that is a REALLY stand up thing to do when they wouldn't have to do it.
