Clavern's Tavern by Toby Keith

Four the Record by Miranda Lambert
Own the Night by Lady A

Based on the facts that according to Cary the noms for the ama are determined by sales, airplay, etc.etc. so for the country album catergory i narrowed down the list to 8, idk what the elgibility period is so i am just going to put albums that have been certified gold/platinum and was released somewhere between September 2011 and August 2012
pick the THREE albums that YOU think is going to be NOMINATED for Country Album of the year, poll closes tomorrow; i just decided to do this short notice lol, and besides lets see how good or bad we are at guessing lol
It is very likely that Carrie will win this award.
Unless we lose to those Scotty fans which would just be sad :P
Scotty Album has the sales imo, but his singles didn't chart well so that could hurt his chances; fyi my definitions of not charting well for a country singer, is not having a single in the top 10 on billboard and/or mediabase country song chart for an album era.
Could Luke Bryan get a nomination for AOTY?
idk maybe his album was released in august 2011 and idk what the eldigibily period i just guessed September 1 2011-August 31, 2012 but i could be wrong of course.
I don't know how current or reliable the info on the AMA wiki page is, but it states that the eligibility is between December 1 of the previous year (so in this case December 1 2011) to September 1 of the current year (September 2012).
This narrows things down because with this eligibility period Lady A, Miranda, Toby, and Scotty are not eligible. Luke is also not eligible.
I think Carrie and Lionel are pretty much surefire bets for nominations because both albums have sold very well.
This is not possible. The eligibility cutoff has to be on or before the announcement of the nominations last year. If not, there will be a black hole period wherein albums released will find themselves ineligible for any nominations in any year.
If the nominations are announced in October, they must be finalised by mid-September, which means the cutoff is likely to be early September. September 2011-August 2012 seems the most plausible.
Based on sales and eligibility period (Dec 1, 2011 - Sep 1, 2012): Tuskegee, Blown Away, Uncaged
guys Dec 1 2011- September 1, 2012 can not be the elgibility period. cause if that was the case then what about the albums released in September, October, November, and the first of December in 2011.
Ok, well to make a gut-level guess I really ned to understand the way things are calculated.
Is this fan voted??
Or do they pick the nom's and then the fans vote?
I just have no idea.
But Blwon Away is certainly up there regardless of how the calculate.
After that I am just not sure how it works.
Kenny might have gotten quite a bit of play at radio.
I think it will be Lady A, Carrie, and either Lionel Richie or Luke Bryan if eligible.
I really hope its not Lionel Richie, just because its his own songs with country singers. I'd rather them give that free slot to a country album. I didn't realize Lady A wasn't eligible if that's true I expect Carrie, Kenny and I maybe ZBB?
