based on just the song titles #14 is just standing out for me it doesn't seem to be one of those trucks/beer type songs. once again basing this only on the title of the song.

This may be putting the cart before the horse, but I might buy this purely because of tracks 9-11. 1) Night Train is the name of one of my favorite GN'R songs. 2) 1994 was the year I was born. 3) Staring at the Sun reminds me of my favorite Blaze Bayley song (a guy who sang for Iron Maiden for 2 albums), "Stare at the Sun." Basically, it's like this album is trying to get my attention. x) Maybe I'll give it a shot. I haven't even heard Take a Little Ride yet, though.

By the way, maybe you guys already know this, but Night Train could very well be a drinking song. Night Train is the name of a cheap alcoholic beverage that was really popular on the Sunset Strip because it was cheap and strong. It apparently tasted awful, but it was so cheap and so strong that nobody cared.

That is cool that he is singing a song with Luke and Eric. I have a feeling that the Macon, GA native will win Entertainer of the Year in the future with this roll he's on. I already like the new single "Take a Little Ride."

The first very VERY early hdd prediction is 350k (for the first week). I think he could do a little more than that. My kinda party sold 8,000 copies last week and it's at 2,725 million.

OMG. His song "Black Tears" is just...wow. Amazing. The best song on the new album. It tells such a vivid story. THIS should be a single.

I just listened to the album. I actually found it a bit boring but I guess I'm not really a country fan so I'm not a good judge. lol.

I just finished listening to the stream on iTunes. The album for the most part is pretty much what I expected. Lots of safe material that sounds similar to the last album. If it ain't broke, right lol?
I can't stand "1994" and "The Only Way I Know" which means he will likely release them as singles lol.
I like the vibe of "Wheels Rollin'" and I don't mind "Staring At The Sun".
"Black Tears" is song of the year material. I hope Jason's team is smart enough to realize that, while it might be a risky choice for radio, it could be a game changer for Jason's career. I may actually buy this song on Tuesday. It is one of the best songs Jason has ever recorded IMO.

I agree about "Black Tears." That could be his career-defining song.

I'm really loving some of Country's singles lately. From Carrie's BA to Little Big Town's Tornado to Jason's Black Tears (hopefully). Such great material and soooooo different than what's on the radio right now

There have been some really good singles lately from several artists. I can only hope that this trend continues because it is nice to see truly great songs getting airplay. It's wonderful for the songwriters and the artists.

I really hope Jason's team gets good feedback all the way around for Black Tears because it needs to be a single. I can just picture him standing center stage at the CMAs next year singing it. It is one of the those once in a career songs IMO. The only thing that I can think might make his team truly hesitant to release it is the cocaine reference. For some strange reason, radio of all formats is a little gun-shy about certain drug references.

^True. I hope they realize what an amazing song it is.

    I LOVE these lyrics:

‎"Jealous of the innocent, sometimes she's convinced,
The boss man is still a friend she needs.
She's tried everything, cheap sex and cocaine,
Anything to hide the pain for a little while
The wrong kind of famous in her momma's eyes,
You can tell she knows it when she cries

    Black tears, rolling down
From the eyes of an angel in a sinner's town,
    White lights on the mirror,
    Just won't hide, black tears"

Just wow. What a powerful image. I get CHILLS every time I hear this song.

After Jason raved about it, I listened and holy cow. Do we know what the second single will be? If it's Black Tears, the rest of the year will be brilliant for country radio.

Finally got a chance to listen to the CD. Pretty solid, albeit safe, but you guys are not kidding with "Black Tears." Definitely a career defining moment and a topic that I can't say I've heard much about in music. Country music may be in a weird state with all the Billboard stuff from the last week, but songs like "Black Tears" and Kacey's "Merry Go Round" make me feel good about country music. Some really good stuff out right now, hopefully it all gets the attention it deserves.
