Not that I wish ill will on Taylor, but I take a sick pleasure from the fact that Scott can no longer market Taylor as having as many top 10s as Carrie, which is my least favorite Borchetta trick ever since it's incredibly misleading and I'm a sensitive Carrie fan.
About iheart, I really liked her performance of Sparks Fly, but I wish she'd relax more when she sang because she went off pitch quite a bit on the other songs. I honestly think this is her biggest issue, and it's a really easy fix. It's funny because her voice is naturally low, but her low notes are way pitchier than her high notes.
Her high notes are pretty horrendous too. Even if she hits the note once in awhile, it is her tone that is grating and annoying.
Her new song does NOT sound much countrier then the WANEEGBT fiasco....and it is boring as you guys said. It is yet another relationship song-- same old Taylor. It sounds exactly like all her other songs.
Watch the critics like Rollingstone call this single "groundbreaking" and the best songwriting ever. lmao How much is she paying Rollingstone mag off anyway? They are in love with her yet they ignore Carrie as if she does not exist. sickening.
This song is about as groundbreaking as Milli Vanilli.
PS-- so glad Borchetta finally admitted Taylor is pop now. Best news ever. Lock the door on your way out.
But I still think she will continue to get nominated for awards, sadly.
Well, I'm not really talking about her tone as that's more subjective. I'm talking about her pitch.
There aren't any low notes in Sparks Fly, so she only has one or two pitch issues. Now listen to the entire first verse of YBWM. She only has one or two right notes. And then she sings the "she wears short shorts" and the chorus in tune.
I agree that her high notes aren't particularly enjoyable, but they are at least in tune. The verses in YBWM are painful.
It should be very interesting to see how Country Radio, Country Reviewers, and Nashville in general respond to Scott's Borchetta's proclamation that Taylor is now Pop?
I am shocked that WANEGBT didn't get some magical push on Country Radio, and that a 2nd single is being sent out prior to her album release. I feel like I'm living in a Fairytale!!! lol![]()

THE ACM 2009 & 2010 EOTY HAS A NEW LAST NAME.... UNDERWOOD
Congratulations Carrie for your Triple Crown Win!!
You can hear the whole song here: from where I'm standing, my grass is green.
Her tone is really nice and I like the drumbeat, but I still think this song is rather boring.
The lyrics are good, but I'm so sick of relationship songs.
I definitely prefer this to WANEGBT and pretty much every single off of SN besides Sparks Fly.
ill actually give taylor points for this song, i actually do like it. However, i still dont think its very country

she doesnt sound great on the verse but i really like the chorus. My only problem is that by the time the song is done the hook kindda becomes daunting, i dont know what it is. the first time she sang "on a wednesday in a cafe i saw it begin again" i really REALLY liked it as a hook, but the more it was used in the song the more i thought it was overused, i dont know why
I love it! I think it sounds very country! and Taylor is such an amazing song writer
I find it quite immature that they release a new single to country radio because the other one did not succeed. It is a little bit desperate, and it doesn't make her any more of a country artist. going from country music to pop music is like a balloon; once it pops, it's gone for good.
I absolutely LOVE the song! She sounds great on it too, imo. This should be able to hit Top 3 on Country, at the very least.
It's not a bad song. It will be interesting to watch how country radio handles this especially with the billboard article coming out the same day. Her phrasing is a bit different on this which isn't bad just sometimes it sounds like she is talk singing again
Her voice is more suited for songs like Begin Again. Definitely less irritating than WANEGBT lol, and her songwriting here is typical of the type of songwriting that seems to have endeared her to her fans.
Okay, it's obviously better than WANEGBT, but it's mind-numbingly boring!
C'mon, Taylor!
