I thought some of you might like to see a video of "Trains I Missed", which won Song of the Year at the IBMAs last night, for Walt Wilkins and his co-writers, Nicole Witt and Gilles Godard.
I'm very grateful to Balsam Range for performing the song and taking it to the festival stages - but I do also like Walt's original, and I think it's a shame he's so little known outside Texas.
Among other awards, Bryan Sutton and Adam Steffey (who were both on Carrie's "Some Hearts" album) won Guitar Player, and Mandolin Player of the Year respectively.
Steve Martin (who, of course, is a great actor and comedian, as well as a banjo player) and the Steep Canyon Rangers were named Entertainers of the Year
Thanks for posting. That's a beautiful song. I would love to hear Carrie sing it.
