    This looks fun.

I saw Carrieflattsfan's Christina list so I am just going to do Christina right now b/c I have to get to bed.

    Christina Aguilera

    1. Ain't No Other Man
    2. Not Myself Tonight

OMG that was so hard! I had to leave so many off that list and I would probably change the list on a rotating basis. Ok - that was hard but fun. I will have to come back to do my other favorite artists starting with Beyonce - omg that will be so hard too. lol

BTW, Carrieflattsfan LOVE Little Dreamer. I am so glad I bought the album at itunes so I got that gem.

    Nicole,

My Mom is seriously obsessed with "Time To Get A Gun." Haha. She thinks it's hilarious, and everytime it comes on my Ipod she wants everyone to stop and listen to it. . I also love "Virginia Bluebell," but "Revolution" is just a gem all-around, IMO. Fantastic album.

    Quincey,

I can't believe I forgot about "Reflection"; it's a great one. I've grew up with Christina's music, but I re-discovered her during "The Voice."
It's funny, because I've never been able to listen to "I'm OK" because of that weird intro.
I didn't buy "Bionic" it its entirety, but I LOVE "Little Dreamer." One of her best & such a sweet song.
I always go back to "Prima Donna" as well. I bought her version of "Lift Me Up" from The Hope For Hati Telethon...pure perfection.
"Mercy On Me" is awesome too; one of my favorites.

I listened to "Some Hearts" in its entirety doing my homework today. Again...perfection. That whole album is too fantastic for words.

Some Hearts has always been my favourite Carrie album. It just has such a je ne sais quoi.

I hate the intro, too, but I still love the lyrics and Christina's vocals. So chilling.

This is interesting because with a top 10 by any artist means you have to really know the artist's work. i'll get back to this

LOVE Time to Get a Gun. That is definitely one of my favorite Miranda songs (cover I think) and yes to Carrieflattsfan about Revolution being a gem all around. If I do a Miranda list I know the majority will come from that album even though I would have to make room for some from her first two - that's what makes this so hard.

Love Christina's Mercy on Me (so hard not to make room for it on my list - lol). The entire Back to Basics album for me is great. I also love Lift Me Up. As I was making that list last night, I was thinking about doing an inspirational playlist for my ipod and Christina has a lot of material that inspires.

Ok - I may do a Kelly Clarkson list too and I love Gone from her Breakaway album although my favorite song by her is The Trouble with Love.

Thank you Claire2004 - I recently got Trisha Yearwood's Greatest Hits album and I adore it but I am glad to see your list and pick up on some songs that are not on that album. I was familiar with Trisha of course but now I'm just really digging her music - amazing voice, nice phrasing.

Kudos to clh_hilary on taking on Madonna - that catalog would be hard to narrow down. I was thinking of doing a Beatles list. First I have to do Beyonce (hard) and Martina McBride which should be pretty easy for me actually.

Thank you allamericangirl8 for this thread. Although it is inevitable that our taste in music will not all be the same, as fans of Carrie we probably have some similar musical sensibilities or places where we meet and this is a great forum to not just find out other artists people like but actual songs that people can listen to and expand their horizons.

That's exactly why I created this thread. If there was an artist I wanted to try and you posted your number one favourite song, that'd make my life a lot easier.

I figure this is a place for discussion and to try new music.

ok. this was actually a lot more interesting than i thought it would be. so here's some. 1st post will be country artists. With the exception of CU, i only considered artists who have at least 4 full length albums released. I'm not going to rank 1-10, but I will bold my top 5. The order is chronological.

    Jesus Take the Wheel
The Night Before (Life Goes On)
    I Know You Won't

    You Won't Find This
    I Told You So
Someday When I Stop Loving You
    Temporary Home

    Look At Me

Brad Paisley (I like his older stuff, getting a bit too cute for my liking lately)
    Who Needs Pictures
    He Didn't Have to Be
    We Danced

    Wrapped Around
    I Wish You'd Stay
    Celebrity
    Little Moments
    Whiskey Lullaby

    Her Man
    Smoke Rings in the Dark
    Nothing On but the Radio
    Tough All Over
    Promise Broken
    He Can't Quit Her
    What Kind of Fool

    Wrong Side of Memphis
    Walkaway Joe
    The Song Remembers When
    I'll Still Love You More
I Don't Paint Myself Into Corners

    Forgive Her
    Fragile

I'm actually not overly familiar with Adele's work, either.

I didn't like anything about "Rolling In The Deep," but once I fell in love with "Someone Like You" & "Turning Tables," I decided to buy "21."

I haven't given her debut a proper listen, but I adore her remake of "To Make You Feel My Love."
If you haven't checked that one out, you can find the studio version on Itunes.

One of the things that I love about Adele is the fact that she doesn't have a huge range to work with, but she doesn't have one of those reedy, irritating singer/songwriter voices that are so common among artists who sing and write their music.
