Mel McDaniel
After a long battle with cancer, Country artist and GRAND OLE OPRY member, MEL McDANIEL passed away on THURSDAY, MARCH 31st. McDANIEL was 68.
MEL McDANIEL, a native of CHECOTAH, had many Country hits including Louisiana Saturday Night,” “Stand Up” and “Baby’s Got Her Blue Jeans On.” He joined the OPRY in 1986.

I just read this at Pulse...very sad. He is at peace now, and no longer has to fight that terrible disease. My thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones.
I wonder if the Opry acknowledged this during their show last night?

I saw this yesterday, so sad.. Cancer is such a terrible disease, at least he won't have to fight it anymore.

I remember, the girl on gac asked Carrie once if she had ever met him. She said no, but she really hoped to some time.
