I do not understand why gays feel the need to be special and have their own everything. I completely understand if gays or anyone for that matter is discriminated against and looking to be put on a level playing field but what i dont understand is when certain subgroups (mostly gays and blacks) want special treatment. Is there a straight thread? NO. Gays preach and cry about wanting equal rights but they have to learn to assimilate into the rest of society. Gay is becoming the new black. Just keeping it real.

Broker we don't want special treatment at all. We cry and whine because we are the minority (like you said) and we feel we deserve our rights just like the rest of society/humanity. It's really not a lot to ask. Lstname89 of course bi-sexual counts!! LGBT stands for lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender. So yes, it counts lol. :P As for their being a straight thread, feel free to make one, I couldn't give a **** less. And gay is definitely not becoming the new black - you can't do that to homosexuality because there are gay blacks, Asians, etc etc. It's not just one race who are gay - it's all of them. That comparison doesn't work. Just keeping it real.

I just think he finds it interesting that anyone would feel the need to discuss their sexual orientation on a support board for Carriefans. We are all fans and our sexual orientation seems irrelevant.

I guess we have not had one before cause there are so many diverse people who represent this site that it hardly matters to bring one in particular to the surface. I mean, it's all good, but to answer the question of why we don't have one.
We don't have a pacific islander one either. Or any other for that matter.
We are united for one cause. Carrie.
And we work together as a family for that cause.
I am not against having one, don't get me wrong. But I just personally feel we are better off working together, not segregating ourselves with lables.
But if you like having one. thats cool, it's all good.

I agree with everything you said... However, for any fans who aren't out in their real lives and want a community where they can feel safe to be themselves, they can know there are people who won't judge them, who they can feel safe with
