    Glasgow tragedy

A police helicopter has crashed for, as yet, unknown reasons in Glasgow, destroying the Clutha, a historic riverside pub. It was the eve of St Andrew's day (Scotland's national holiday). Once a stopping place for the penny steamers which brought workers into the city, the pub has been a popular music venue, mainly for acoustic folk acts, and holding open mike nights, where anyone could sing. Clearing the wreckage is a slow and dangerous operation, but at least eight people are now reported dead, with many others injured.

Our thoughts are with the people of the city, relatives of those missing, and the emergency services responding to the incident.

Oh my goodness, I am so sorry.

I visited Glasgow on a trip as a young adult "backpacking" through England and Scotland.

My thoughts are with all those affected and those whos hearts are with them.

I don't know how they could possibly happen to be quite honest. It's not a tall building or anything like that.

    Eight people have died already.
