The entire song just keeps building and building until the smash ending.................I think I can even hear Carrie yelling YEAH! somewhere amongst the steel clashing..... Song just rocks me in all the right ways!
it gets better with every listen. Such a great song.
So proud of the direction she has gone. It was a huge leap for her to leave Sony and if this is what results I'm beyond happy. It seems more natural and more Carrie than any other single, excluding SITW of course.
So far the rollout is on point! No more nonsense countdown clock LOL
I'm sorry
But I'm just a girl
Not usually the kind to show my heart to the world
I'm pretty good
At keeping it together
I hold my composure
For worse or for better
So I apologize, if you don't like what you see
Sometimes my emotions get the best of me
And falling apart is as human as it gets
You can't hide it, you can't fight but the truth is
You can't pretty lie
And say it's ok you can't pretty smile and just walk away
Pretty much make your way through anything
But you can't cry pretty
Oh no you can't dress it up
In lace or rhinestones
It don't matter if you're in a crowd
Or home all alone
Yeah it's all the same
When you're looking the mirror
A pinch or a pain, so let it flow like a river

But you can't cry pretty You can't turn off the flood
When the dam breaks
And all your mascara is going away
When things get ugly
You just gotta face that you can't cry pretty
No you can't
Oooooh

Yeah

You can't cry pretty, baby
No you can't cry
Pretty
I'm so in love with the song that I don't even know which Thread I'm posting hahaha. Apology.
I just wanna buy on ITunes!
She going to knock this out of park at the ACM's Sunday.
From Hunter Kelly:
perfectly summarized what I’ve been feeling about this song. I’m a diehard fan, and I love that there’s this side of her that she allowed us to see through this song.
- nashvillehkStunned by the way @carrieunderwoodsounds on this song. In a very good way. There is a vulnerability and authority in her voice we haven’t heard before, and it’s rare to feel you’ve discovered a new side to an artist a decade into her career. Welcome back, Carrie. Country music NEEDS you. #carrieunderwood#crypretty#acmawards
Finally on itunes! Just bought it and now I can listen!
This song is just EVERYTHING!!!! I love how it starts out, her vocal is so beautiful and the lyrics are just beautiful. She sounds so vulnerable in that first verse and I LOVE that it's in the first person. I love the build up and how it turns into a country rock ballad! There is definitely an Aerosmith vibe at the end with the guitars (do you think when she wished Steven Tyler Happy Birthday, it was a HINT, lol). Oh and her FALSETTO at the end - honestly gives me some 80s Prince vibes. It's like the beginning is country rock, then the ending blows up into a full blown 80s power ballad.
I think I'm going to be like Donna - I didn't cry the first listen, but as I sit and listen now and type this, I am starting to tear up. I can't wait to play it full blast in my car after I drop my daughter off at school. Gosh, it's like the real Carrie has been unleashed onto the world! Thank you Carrie, thank you Love Junkies, and thank you UMG!

Chills. Omg! She sure can belt out a chorus like no other!
And the verses, her voice is so soulful with her bluesy runs!
And she sings lyrics in the first person for I think the first time ever????
I couldn’t ask for anything more. My dream single from Carrie!
Just purchased it on my itunes. Available in indonesia
