Icon Tutorials for Beginners

I was wondering if anyone knew of any tutorials for making icons that are geared towards absolute beginners. And when I say beginner, I mean BEGINNER. I just took a Photoshop class, but they didn't teach any of that kind of thing. So if anyone knows of anything that is helpful, I'd really appreciate it. I'm using Photoshop CS3, by the way. (Oh, and I already have the tutorial for beginners that Heidi made, which was very helpful

)

the max size on here for avies are 120x120
profile pics are 150x150
if your doing a gif it has to be under 60kbs

avatars on the Official FC are 80x80 or smaller, I think...
