The singer-songwriter from Oklahoma, who rose to fame in 2005 as winner of "American Idol" and the release of her debut album, "Some Hearts" (later named the No. 1 country album of the decade by Billboard) performs at 8 p.m. July 18 at Harveys Outdoor Arena as part of the 2014 Lake Tahoe Summer Concert Series. The crossover success of her singles "Before He Cheats" and "Jesus, Take the Wheel" helped launch a career that has seen Underwood capture six Grammy Awards, 16 Billboard Music Awards and sell more than 16 million albums globally. The first woman to twice win (2009-2010) Entertainer of the Year by the Academy of Country Music, the 31-year-old has even branched into acting, starring as Maria Von Trapp in NBC's live broadcast in December of "The Sound of Music."
