[Carrie_Rocks_The_House]

Hey guys here's my review of Carrie's concert at the Midstate Fair. I was a long day for me getting to the Midstate Fair. My day started out at 7:30 am when my mom picked me up at my brother's house and get my rental car. So we get to the rental car place and my mom paid for my car rental and I'm off to the Paso Robles for the Midstate Fair. The whole drive took me 5 hours but it wa worth it just to see Carrie in concert. Any way I got to my hotel at 1:30 pm I went to the front desk getting my key for my room and I asked the manager far is the fair from my hotel and he said that there's a shuttle that goes by the fair so that's a big plus for me I don't have to drive my car to the fair. Then I went in my room at my hotel and I called my parents and told them I arrived at my hotel safely. So I just ate my lunch which is subway $5 footlongs and they were seafood sensation, roasted chicken, and blackforest ham. I was also texting my friends Kaytie and Trexie about what time they are going to the fair and where we should meet up. I was also watching cartoons until 2:45pm . Then at 2:50 pm I went out and I saw that shuttle so I had to go running after it and it was at one of the bus stops. Then I get on the bus and it's only $1 for the fare but i reached in my wallet and I only had a $5 bill so the driver told me he doesn't have change and I have to get change from the library and wait for the next bus. I was about to get off and this nice lady with her little daughter had change for $5 and she gave me the change in ones for my $5 and I put the dollar in the little money slot on the bus. It was a little far when the bus was driving to the fair. Then i get to the fair at 3:30 pm and I took asked one of the ladies to take a picture of me at the banner of Carrie at the Midstate Fair. Then I went to the ticket booth and I asked the employee at the fair how much is the ticket for the fair and she said it's like $10. Then I told her I needed to get my ticket to the concert to too anasked my if I ordered online and I said I did buy my ticket online then she gave me my ticket to the concert and I went is the fair. Then one of the employees working at the ticketing booth saw my Fc shirt and said "Carrie Underwood Fanclub. I guess you want to get in early" Then I went in and I saw a merchandise booth for the fair and I bought one of the shirt and the lady said the machine didn't work and hse had to call her manager and the manager came by and she told my to just give her $20 because that's how much it cost. Then I just walked around the fair for like 4 hours to kill time. So I went around buying stuff like a waffle cone nonfat yogurt, toffee coffee crunch, water and lemonade. Then at about 5:30 pm I heard Carrie rehearsing and there were people standing on the picnic benches. So I jumped on the benches too and I got a little peak and Carrie was singing FOTF and she was wearing sunglasses, shorts, t-shirt and flip flops. I was about to take a picture on my camera but I was too slow because one of the security people caught me and she told me to get down and I did. So I waled around the fair some more I went in the showcase rooms. Then at about 6 pm I asked one of the security people working at the fair what time they are letting people in the Grandstand and she asked her supervisor and she said they start letting people at 6:30 pm. So I wait at 6:30 pm at one of the benches then I went to the Grandstand and sat on the rock wall then I looked to my left and I saw Reggie (Kakarot), Vinman and like 2 ladies a blonde girl and brunette girl I think They're FC members too. So I called Reggie and he looked at me and Vinman also saw me and told me "Nice shirt Andrew." So I told Vinman that I got to Paso Robles at 1:30 pm and her asked me what have I been doing sice 1:30 pm and I told him I wait at my hotel because there was a tram that shuttle that came by at 3 pm. Then we just walked around and it's about 6:45 pm. At 7 pm I went in the the Grandstand and looked for my seat. then when I found my seat I asked one of the security guys if he can help me give my present to Carrie but he told me I need pass to get in the meet and greet area and give my present to Carrie. Then I asked another security person near the stage if he can help me out by putting the gift bag I wanted to give to Carrie on stage but he said they can't put anything then he told me that I can give my present to the security guys at the meet and greet area and the best they can do is leave it backstage but they can't guarantee and Carrie will get it. So I told him I'll try it at the end of the concert. Now on the concert at 7:30 pm. The opener for Carrie was an unknown band named Jonathan Singleton and the Grove. So they sang like a 30 minute set and they also sang one of the songs they wrote for Gary Allan called "Watching Airplanes." Then after their set we waited for Carrie for half an hour. Then at 8:30 Carrie's opening sequence for FOTL came on and everyone started screaming and I was screaming too. Then Carrie came up on the stage wearing a hot pink shirt, black hip belt, black tights, and 4 inch heels I think and she was amazing was always. Then she sang SH, Wasted, Crazy Dreams. then Carrie told everyone she and her band was glad to be back at the Midstate Fair and hey haven't toured in like 7 months. Then Carrie sang AAG and of course Carrie looked for an AAG girl and this girl came up and Carrie asked her name and her name was Mikaila. Then Carrie asked her how old she is and she said she is 6. Then Carrie asked her does she like school and she said yes. Then Mikaila said yes. Then Carrie asked what's her favorite subject and Carrie said Math? Then Mikaila said Art. Then Carrie said "Art?" Then Carrie asked Mikaila if she would like to sing the rest of AAG and Mikaila got a little shy and Carrie said may be you will help me. then Carrie looked at the audience and told them give it up for Mikaila. Than after AAG Carrie went under that stage and changed to her second outfit. The band had their little jam session. Then Carrie came up the stage again and sand IYH just the refrain and she was wearing a white shirt I swear I seen Carrie wear it before at the Wal Mart shareholders meeting during CMA Fest. Then Carrie sang JTTW, IKYW. Then Carrie sang Twisted. Then before Carrie sang TMBIM she told the crowd "Usually before I sing this next song a usually gripe about the men." Then Carrie also said "Boys I don;t have ring on my finger and I"m looking for Mr. Right and I see some good looking guys in here" Then Carrie said "I found him he's a foot tall and he's furry and you all know him and it's a great tribute to him and his name is Ace. Then another costume change it;s its her third costume change. Carrie came out wearing a white tank top and a long shirt that is really colorful and pretty. So Carrie sang LN and in the middle of the song I was taking pictures at the time and for some reason Carrie was laughing and Ashley Clark fell and got up in front of Carrie and I got why she was laughing and I thought she want going to finish the song but she still finished it too. Then hte crew set up the chairs for Carrie, Ed and Mark for DFTRM. Then Carrie said "Ashley fell" and everyone was laughing and Carrie was too. Then Carrie told the audience that she usually pray before every show and she said that Ashley prays that he doesn't fall. Then Carrie sang a little Garth Brooks song that goes "God greatest gift is unanswered prayers and at least he didn't fall on the stairs" It was so funny. After DFTRM Carrie sang ITYS. Then the rest was of the set list was HSH, JAD, GOOTT, SS. Then Carrie got read for the encore and she came out singing PC then BHC and after the third verse Carrie told the crowd to sing along the lyrics of BHC. Carrie finished going up the stage and going under and wave at the crowd. She a was amazing as always and she brought her Entertainer of the Year prowess. Then after the show I asked the security guy if I can give him my gift to Carrie and he said the best thing her can do is leave it backstage and he can't guarantee Carrie will get it. I told him that's fine and I thought to myself I'll take my chance of may be Carrie getting the present I gave her. Oh yeah that present I brought Carrie are Ed Hardy hi cut slip on shoes, a black tank to with a tiger in the front of it and mousepad I made of her and Ace and I'm still hoping that Carrie gets my present. Then after I got out of the fair I wait for the shuttle again and it didn't arrive and it's getting windy outside and it's 12 pm how I went to a hotel close by and told one of the employees to call me a taxi and he said it's gonna be like 30 minutes. So I wait for 30 minutes and 30 minutes came and gone and the taxi didn't arrive so I told him to call the taxi again and he told me there's only one taxi service. By this time it's already 1 am. The employee of the hotel told me that it's gonna another 20 to 30 minutes. So I wait again and I'm getting sleepy and the taxi finally arrived at 1:45 am and he told me he is sorry he is late because he has been picking up drunk people coming out of the concert and I was talking to him and why people drink alcohol at concerts. I finally arrived at my hotel at 2 am so I just changed to my sleeping clothes and brushed my teeth and went to bed. Any way I still enjoyed the concert despite not getting back at my hotel and enduring windy cold night.

Bummer about the shuttle and cab dude but you handled a bad situation so well! And that was an incredibly thorough reveiw Andrew! Thanks for taking the time and giving a true picture of what happened! With your reveiw and others i think its safe to say that Carrie is exuding self-confidence right now! Its the EOTY trophy plus knowing that she has a great album thats gonna drop in a few months! Thanks again buddy(!)

Hey that is interesting how Carrie said "I don't have a ring on my finger" ... lol She must have changed her usual line because she has a boyfriend now, so it is hard to do the whole TMBIM skit... lol

I was at the picnic tables during the FOTF portion of the soundcheck too!

They charged you for the shuttle? It was free for me. And Fair admission should have been $8...weird. Bummer about the taxi thing, but why did you stay past midnight? The shuttles only ran to 12am.

Thanks for taking the time to write that detailed review Andrew - going to a Carrie concert is quite an experience and sorry you had trouble getting back to your hotel but it sounds like the concert was great and you had a good time ! I enjoyed your pics too!

Glad you had a good time! I was there too! I drove all the way from Anaheim Hills. I also wonder why people get drunk at concerts. I would enjoyed the show more if it wasn't for these two guys behind me who were drunk and talking loud during the show. It was not even their seats, but the people in that row let them stand there. I don't know what happened to the people who had those seats, but I wished that they would have come back. I wish they wouldn't serve alcohol at her shows. I come to hear her sing and watch her perform and that is a "high" that no amount of alcohol will ever bring you! She is such an awesome performer! I saw her 3 years ago at the Mid-State Fair and it was an awesome show , too!
