My prayers are with his family. It is such a shame that this man who gave so much to profession had his reputation tarnished in the final months of his life. I hope he is remembered for the the good things.
Thankfully, the media waited for a proper statement before declaring him dead this time. Apparently some news outlets prematurely reported he had died a few days ago.

If I was Joe's family, I would sue the pants off of CBS. what professional news organizations gets information as drastic as the death of a person from a drunk college pub? Completely inappropriate. And I think people really need to remember that this man did not molest any little boys. Did he make a mistake? yes, but that should not overshadow all the good he has done. the blame only belongs to the perp, Sandusky. My prayers are with him and his family.

Couldn't have said it better. He could have and should have done more with the information he was given, but he didn't molest anyway. They treated him like he did, and reputation was shattered in his final months.

I'll remember him as a remarkable leader, one of the best football coaches of all time, a GREAT interview(always had something funny to say, whether he tried or not), and an amazing person. He was the ONLY reason I ever even respected Penn State. R.I.P. JoePa....the world is better for everything you've done.

I agree with Meg. I didn't know much about him; I only heard about the stuff that ruined his reputation. I was really hoping he would pull through...RIP.
