3/18/09 - All I can say about tonight is that for the first time I really want Carrie's music to continue progressing more to the traditional side of country music and I think it will. I don't care if it doesn't sell as well or all go #1, it's beautiful with Carrie's voice. Tonight I saw her as a Country legend for the first time.

Carrie to Record Song For Christmas Album!
source: carrie-underwood.org
Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney and Brooks & Dunn contribute holiday songs to an upcoming Christmas compilation disc coming out in October. "Hear Something Country Christmas" drops Oct. 2 from SonyBMG with 14 songs. Six were recorded exclusively for this collection.
Underwood, who will release her own CD later in October, will be represented by a brand new version of "Do You Hear What I Hear," while Paisley sings "Winter Wonderland," which he previously released.
New songs, in addition to Underwood's, come from Sara Evans ("I'll Be Home for Christmas"), Terri Clark ("O Little Town of Bethlehem"), Kellie Pickler's rendition of "Santa Baby," Keith Anderson ("Please Come Home For Christmas") and Terri Clark ("O Little Town of Bethlehem")
The complete track listing is:
"Do You Hear What I Hear" - Carrie Underwood
"Winter Wonderland" - Brad Paisley
"Let It Be Christmas" - Alan Jackson
"Jingle Bells" - Kenny Chesney
"Santa Baby" - Kellie Pickler
"Away in a Manger" - Blaine Larsen
"Please Come Home for Christmas" - Keith Anderson
"O Little Town of Bethlehem" - Terri Clark
"Merry Christmas from the Family" - Montgomery Gentry
"Let's Make a Little Christmas Tonight" - Phil Vassar
"I'll Be Home for Christmas" - Sara Evans
"Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" - Brooks & Dunn
"O Come All Ye Faithful" - Martina McBride

-poor kati. she's just too amazing that she forgets to be a fake drunk
She had megasuccess early on, and you know she wasn't a 12-year-old playing in bars. I didn't really think that much of it coming from her. If it had been somebody who had spent 20 years working to get this and then they got it, that would be a little different.
-Carrie on Leann Rimes' charge that she "didn't pay her dues."

Oh that is awesome, will be definitely getting this album. "Do You Hear What I Hear" is one of my favs, however it would have been soooooooo much better if she put Oh Holy Night on this CD --- that is by far my fav christmas carol, and Carrie did such an amazing job of it last time. Perhaps she's saving that one for her own christmas album one day lol!
