Carrie Underwood Shares How High School Impacted Her Life

You know and love Carrie Underwood thanks to her catchy country tunes and bouncy blonde hair, but did you know that she also owns a fitness brand?

Two years ago, Carrie launched CALIA by Carrie Underwood, a line of super cute athletic apparel that's sold exclusively at Dick's Sporting Goods.

With the mantra "follow your path," the fitness brand and Carrie both stand for living by your own rules.

"Sometimes your life trajectory changes and you want to be in one place and life takes you in a different place," Carrie told Sweety High during a fun-filled day of fitness and healthy vegan food in Malibu. "Just roll with it and do the best you can." Preach!

For Carrie, it's all about squeezing in workouts whenever she can. In fact, some months on the road she'll work out consistently with her trainer Eve as many as six days a week!

And trust us when we say Eve is tough—we took a killer 45-minute cardio bootcamp class alongside Carrie, decked out in her line, of course. But when she's at home in Nashville living her everyday life, sometimes she'll only be able to fit two workouts in. As she tells it, it's all about balance.

Fitness has always been a big part of Carrie's life—she played both softball and basketball growing up.

"It was such an important time in my life," Carrie told us of her sports team days. "Learning how to work as a team and listen to your coach and practicing to get better because you want to get better … there are a lot of life lessons hidden in group sports growing up."

CALIA by Carrie Underwood and Dick's Sporting Goods have gone as far as to pledge $200,000 for girls' sports teams and projects across the country.

"Girls sports always get pushed to the back burner," Carrie said. "If there isn't any money, they cut it from the girls' teams first and it's really important to Dick's Sporting Goods to help girls' teams and it's important to me."

Together, they are funding about 100 girls' sports teams across the country. Even more reason to shop Carrie's uber cute line.

Playing on a school sports team is a great way to stay healthy, active, and social with your friends and classmates, and clearly it also teaches you valuable career lessons. You never know, you might just be the next high school basketball star-turned-mega country crooner in the making.

Need a reason to get a whole new CALIA by Carrie Underwood workout wardrobe? HERE's how a month of trying unique workout classes boosted my body confidence.
