Jesus Takes the Wheel turns 10 years old today

Rewinding the Country Charts: 10 Years Ago, Carrie Underwood Motored to Her First No. 1 | Billboard

Great article! This really was a career defining moment for Carrie, and when I listen back on Some Hearts I really think they picked the right songs and went in the right direction with her music. I am so glad they took the time to work on a good country album and not push out some pop dribble.
Love this song so much and it's a classic that will always be relevant and meaningful no matter what else has changed.

The song that started it all for me. Didn't watch idol. Didn't listen to country music. Didn't know who Carrie Underwood was. Crazy about her ever since. Still one of my many favorite Carrie songs.

I clearly remember hearing JTTW for the first time. I must have accidentally hit upon a country station in the car, I never listened to country music then. The song stuck with me although I didn't hear it again for a long time. I had no idea who Carrie was since I never watched Idol until years after Carrie won. I always liked how "the road I'm on" was interpreted in two different ways.

This song is timeless and Carrie always sings it beautifully. I am so glad she took the "risk" by releasing it as her debut single.
