Amazing compliment for Carrie from Rolling Stone!

CMA Awards 2014's 12 Best Moments

"...Underwood also made the TV debut of her new single, "Something in the Water," taking fans to church with a little "Amazing Grace" thrown into the tune and proving with her flawless delivery that she's the female vocalist of her generation... of any genre.

I have read numerous articles, more than I've seen before, that refer to Carrie or introduce Carrie as the 'Reigning Queen of Country'.

I imagine some if not many CMA voters are aware of this, and I find myself wondering what they are thinking when they hear this. I'll bet some or maybe many personally and privately agree with the sentiment, but are somehow committed/encouraged to tow the party line.

It appears to me at times that a line has been drawn. On one side you have just enough CMA members' votes to produce the winners that the PTB have selected. And on the other side you have the critics, celebrities, bloggers and news agencies from within and outside the country genre who boldly proclaim Country's reigning queen to be the very artist who; is omitted from major categories like EOTY, and who is year after year denied a win in the FVOTY category. Not withstanding that it is this very same artist who is the 'go-to person' for big, global mainstream events either to represent country and/or simply because this artist is viewed by the public as a Superstar, regardless of genre. I don't believe CMA voters aren't aware of this gross discrepancy.
They probably just ignore it. Until a new phase is ushered in.

But, at the end of the day, there is so much evidence that Carrie has and continues to flourish, big time. Clearly immune and untouched by CMA's benign neglect.

I have seen so many articles lately that introduce her as, "the beloved Carrie Underwood"!

It is about time, it just seems like since Taylor burst onto the scene, that they have done everything they can to elevate her while keeping Carrie down. So I wonder since they are not competing anymore, if their attitude towards her will change. I also wonder if we will start seeing people who used to vote for Taylor to win awards at the CMA'S and ACM'S wil start to vote for Carrie instead.
