Carrie Underwood has undeniable country roots pumping through her blood, and that is evident through her music as the singer draws on various influences for her albums. From Reba McEntire and Martina McBride to Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson, Underwood samples the legends on numerous singles she has released over the years, including her debut single "Jesus Take the Wheel," which stood at No. 1 on the radio tally for an impressive six weeks. On later releases, such as "I Told You So" (a cover of Randy Travis' 1988 hit), "Just a Dream," "Blown Away" and "Two Black Cadillacs," the 30-year-old singer-songwriter continues incorporating older, more traditional influences. In honor of that, Underwood has joined forces with Nelson himself for a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration.

On Nelon's upcoming "To All The Girls..." duets collection, the legend enlists the powerhouse vocalist on a revamped rendition of his iconic "Always on My Mind." On the project, several other leading ladies (and female legends) find their way into new versions of his songs, including Miranda Lambert (on "She Was No Good For Me"), Dolly Parton (on "From Here to the Moon and Back"), Alison Krauss (on "No Mas Amor") and Sheryl Crow (on "Far Away Places"). The album hits retail on September 20. Pre-order here.

Other artists featured on the album are Rosanne Cash, The Secret Sisters, Wynonna Judd, Loretta Lynn, Melonie Cannon, Mavis Staples, Norah Jones, Shelby Lynne, Lily Meola, Emmylou Harris, Brandi Carlile, Paula Nelson and Tina Rose.

Wow, this is impressive ! Carrie is given the most well known song of Willie Nelson's -- even Elvis Presley sang this song.

That is so cool. You Were Always On My Mind is the most popular song of Willie's. The ASPCA even used it in their commercials

Hope Carrie's song is chosen by Willie as a radio single and grammy submission as it makes the Grammy deadline! But there are so many choices with great artists on cd.

Carrie has recorded some great duets over the years. I'm glad she finally got to work with Willie Nelson on this classic song. I am excited to hear the whole song.

Can't wait to hear it! Wait, WILLIE NELSON? Wasn't he stripped of ALL his CMA Awards on account of doping charges?
