LOL. It's amazing the things people will sue for.

Reminded me of this image I saw the other day:

The lyrics aren't even similar either. What a reach.

They don't seem similar at all to me. Chasing the money 'cause she wasn't good enough to make it on her own talent.

Stupid. And they want 10 MILLION? Are you kidding me?

Carrie didn't even write the song.

American greed and stupidity at its finest.

Lawyers love to cast as wide a net as humanly possible. Carrie obviously doesn't have a songwriting credit so she will quickly be dropped from the suit. All it will take is an hour of her lawyer's time. It is also possible that the paper reported it inaccurately and she isn't actually named in the suit. It's hard to say without actually hearing the two songs but from the looks of the lyrics of the choruses this woman doesn't seem to have any kind of a case. People love to do stuff like this hoping it will be easier and cheaper for the people to pay them off than pay the lawyers to mount a defense.

^ plus Carrie and even Sheryl Crow could both testify for Brad as to the authenticity of the songwriting. Sheryl was present when he wrote parts of it as she did the demo for Carrie, and Carrie heard bits and pieces over the phone from Brad as they were writing it.

This won't go anywhere. It seems that these type of suits keep getting filed more and more lately against tons of artists. Just rotten People looking for a quick buck and hoping for a cash settlement.

There is no similarity in the songs whatsoever. This person is despicable to even try to sue.

Also as I remember, Brad didn't bring Kelley Lovelace and Chris Dubois in to help co-write the song until after he originally pitched the idea to Carrie. So the Remind Me part was already in the song before Kelley Lovelace and Chris Dubois worked on the song. So the fact the they may have heard the other song is irrelevant.
