Miranda Lambert: I’m Not in ‘Competition’ With Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood

Miranda Lambert: I’m Not in ‘Competition’ With Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood

    By Taryn Ryder | omg!

Grammy Award winner Miranda Lambert is one of the most popular artists in the country music business, but she hasn’t let success go to her head. The Platinum-selling singer says she has nothing but respect for country music’s other young leading ladies, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood.

“I would like to work with [Taylor] and with Carrie Underwood too,” Lambert told omg! at yesterday’s kickoff event for The Pedigree Feeding Project. “There is room for [all of] us three [in country music]. We are all three different [types] of country — well Taylor’s kind of all over everywhere — but I think it would be cool for the three of us to collaborate.”

“I love girl power,” the “Over You” singer smiled. “I say the more the merrier! It’s not competition. It makes us all look better to help each other.”

To be honest, Carrie would overshadow both of them easily, in my opinion.

Anyway haha, I think the 3 of them together would be a mess as well. Miranda's voice would swallow up Taylor's and Carrie's would take over them both!

I think Miranda and Carrie could come up with a pretty awesome revenge song. haha. But please leave Taylor out of it. Carrie's voice certainly overpowers Miranda's, but she also knows how to tone it down when she needs to.

^i was just about to point that out. I like ML. When she won ACAs for best vid and single, i couldnt say i was happy, but i took a sigh of relief that it wasnt SWSRN. If anybody deserves to be called country, its ML.

It kinda surprises me Miranda would want to work with Taylor, because she has made some unfavorable comments in the past.

Anyway, I agree Carrie is obviously the best singer of the 3, but like Jess said, Carrie adapts her voice well to fit whomever she's singing with. I bet those two would have a ball onstage; Miranda is so full of energy, and Carrie is a fantastic performer now. A revenge song from them would be epic.

And I also agree, NO TAYLOR INCLUDED.

Agree! But, well, in live performances, if Carrie is very in to the song, she doesn't hold back... then ends up overpowering others... Ahaha...

Carrie and Miranda already performed together at an awards show - they both rocked out great together. Anybody else remember that?

I remember! They also sang together on the Sony Boat Party Event, and also at Capital Hoedown in Canada.

She can't be in competition with Carrie if she isn't even in her league.

Kidding, but a collaboration between the three would sound really weird. Unpopular opinion: chick duets/collabs usually sound weird.

Agree. Taylor trying to compete with EITHER of them would be a trainwreck. And Miranda owns Taylor in the songwriting department, IMO.

I can't think of a female country duet; I don't think females in country perform enough together.

I know, right? It's just weird. The only one I think worked extremely well is the Reba McEntire- Does He Love You- with Linda. That was just perfect. In general, Female and male vocal duets/collabs works the best IMO.

I would not mind a Carrie Underwood/Miranda Lambert duet at all! I think it would be killer, no filler. Taylor Swift added to the mix, NO. Taylor Swift would drag both of the leading ladies down...No offense to anyone who's fan of hers.
