Carrie Underwood, Aerosmith duet goes for radio adds late January

Carrie Underwood dips her toes into the love pool on her latest collaboration with the iconic Aerosmith, fronted by rocker Steven Tyler. "Can't Stop Loving You," off the band's latest release Music From Another Dimension, features Country-pop guitar licks and an earworm melody right up Underwood's alley. All Access reports that the smokin' tune goes for radio adds on Jan. 21 to several formats, including Hot AC, AC and Modern. Plus, rumors are swirling that the track already has a Country remix in the works, to be sent out to the genre's major markets soon.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Tyler discussed the songwriting process for the new track, revealing:

"I sang it a little country & western. When it was done, it was discussed that I might have sang it a little too country. And all along we thought, should we get someone in?"

As it turns out, Underwood was out on the road on her 55-city Blown Away Tour and happened to be in Los Angeles at the same time of recording. "It was last-minute," Tyler reminisces. "She was in town doing something. I called her up and she said, 'I'm leaving tomorrow.' And I said, 'Can you come over tonight?' I called Joe [Perry] up, and the rest is history. She just did it. It really does work."

Np. Considering many outlets don't give Carrie the right kind of support, someone has to

LOL at Steven saying 'country and western.'

I'm still not the biggest fan of "Can't Stop Lovin' You," but it's great exposure for Carrie, and I'm interested to see if this gets any radio support.

I love the song! I hope it does well on Hot Ac. Granted, Aerosmith does not do as well on radio these days, which is the same case for most Rock legends, sadly. Not even Bruce or U2 can get radio play much anymore.

But with Carrie on it, it might at least crack top 20 on Hot Ac with the right push.

They need to do a live performance of it-- like at the Grammys.

I hope Can't Stop Loving You does well on Hot AC/AC radios, and, why not dream with a release on Top 40 radios? If it does so well on Hot AC/AC radios, maybe...

^ hope so! It needs promotion and a live Televised performance. I hope they do it on the Grammys. That would be killer.

    This is exciting!!
Even though CSLY doesn't have the greatest lyrics, it is still extremely catchy and I think radio listeners are going to get into it whether they want to or not

I hope for all the best, I do. I'm hoping it has success, but I fear with Aerosmith's last few singles it may fall down the same path. Let's hope Carrie's star power can save it.

if they release a country version, wouldn't that go against TBC?
But it's great that they are going to release it! Hopefully, we have a video

Whatever success it does have on radio, Carrie will be the reason why it does.

^ Radio doesn't play Rock legends anymore, very rarely. So it is not really Aerosmith's fault that their last few singles did mediocre on radio.

I notice radio doesn't play Bon Jovi, Bruce, U2 or even Madonna anymore. I guess once you are a legend, it is really hard to get current radio play.

So-- it will be hard for this song to smash on radio, but with Carrie's name attached, I am hopeful it will at least have a decent chance of success.

Country radio will play the remix I bet. They played the crap out of that Bon Jovi/Jen Nettles song of a similar sound.

Gotta say, I really really really hope theyre not gonna release this to country radio and interfere with a release from Blown Away.

Excited to see how this does on AC tho!!

I can't see this getting much airplay at all, let alone any at country radio. Carrie's singles from Blown Away have shot up the charts; there's no way this one will even come close to interfering with that.

How has this sold digitally so far?
