Carrie Underwood shows support to stop slavery in 'End It Movement'

Carrie Underwood has avidly shown her support for a remarkable new cause to end slavery around the world. Titled the "End It Movement," the organization sets about educating the general public that "there are 27 million men, women and children, just like them, living in the shadows," according to a statement. Via Twitter, the "Blown Away" singer tweeted a photo of her and her hockey-playing husband Mike Fisher decked out in the cause's signature red-X black hats (see photo above). She exclaimed:

"We're in it to end it! #enditmovement http://enditmovement.com."

The movement, in partnership with several other organizations, including Polaris Project and Free The Slaves, acknowledges that slavery is still occurring in over 160 countries, even in the United States. The founders are also joining forces to stop sex trafficking and child laborers in third-world nations.

With 27 million slaves worldwide, the average price per body is $90 (or less), leading to an estimated $32 billion profit annually. Unfortunately, 80% of those bought and sold across the globe are women. 17,500 are thought to be trafficked in the United States alone.
