    13-Tie. Carrie Underwood - "Blown Away" (19/Arista)

Carrie Underwood proves with Blown Away that she's not afraid to embrace some of the more 'pop' sounds that have infiltrated country radio as of late (thanks to Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift) and it's a suit that fits her well. "Good Girl" and "Blown Away" are two of the most pop-sounding tracks of her career while "Two Black Cadillacs" is a darkly melodic vocal triumph that could help the single become a contender for Single or Song of the Year. The album is deep with potential singles like "See You Again," "Forever Changed" and "Thank God For Home Towns" but perhaps the best song on this record after "Two Black Cadillacs" is "Wine After Whiskey." Standout tracks: "Two Black Cadillacs," "Wine After Whiskey," "Blown Away," "See You Again, "Thank God For Hometowns" and "Forever Changed."

What an interesting coincidence, hun? I haven't listened to Red, so I can't judge. But I would put Carrie at #1 anyway, I'm biased.

Because in the writers' opinion it wasn't the best album of the year. All of these lists are just one person's, or in a few cases a few people's opinion. I have seen a couple that put it much closer to the top but all of them are just a matter of taste.

I think when you have a "top country" list. It is going to seriously look at what it "considers country" and since Carrie has a tendency to push the boundries of country pop, she ends up with good reviews but not near the "top of what they consider country".
How TS ends up close to the tops of lists is politics. So I don't evn consider it an issue.
As for them both tieing in this case? JUst Augh!!
