A Critical Time in Country Music from Saving Country Music Blog.
Here's the Carrie reference:
"Meanwhile where is there support for attempting to preserve the roots of the music coming from? Carrie Underwood fans of all places. Carrie Underwood fans! They have been making front page headlines for being against Billboard’s new chart rules, even when as Billboard’s Editorial Director Bill Werde points out, Carrie Underwood could very easily be one of the beneficiary’s of the new system. Carrie’s fans’ reaction wasn’t based soley on their self interests, but for better interests for the entire country genre."
D'aww! See? We aren't all bad!
It was nice of them to say that last part.

That is good of them to say, but does anyone here know how the change can benefit Carrie?
He also said this too:
Meanwhile Music Row and the big money forces in Nashville can do whatever they want without fear of retribution or reprisal from the roots of the genre. Carrie Underwood fans? They can be managed; cast them off as crazy. That Saving Country Music guy? He’s a self-absorbed wacko whose losing relevancy.
He's not too pleased with Music Row and how no one is really saying anything about this whole deal except when we did and he did.
Ann, thanks for your insights. Very interesting...![]()
nice of them to say!!

It can benefit Carrie more than most, but that doesn't mean it benefits her alot.
Well so far the new BB chart has only affected Carrie & Lee Brice. Let's see what happens in the next couple of months when Luke Bryan, Jake Owens, Miranda, Kenny & Zac Brown are denied #1's because of Swift and the new methodology of this chart.
Well that was depressing, except for the Carrie fans part and Spin calling BB on it. I'm done thinking about this, it is starting to affect my mood swings. I don't want to talk about TS, I never want to hear SB name again, If Carrie wins at the CMAs this year, next year great if not F***kum and I'll cheer on Toby Keith for standing up to them. I'm a Carrie fan and will be interested in all things Carrie except those listed. I love good music in whatever the genre and whoever the artist. I'm not leaving, you can't get rid of me that easily, but you won't see me in certain forums or threads.
For Tee, my friend, from War Games - A paraphrase
Tee: How about a game of Thermonuclear War on BMR and TS?
Schrodinger: Wouldn't you prefer a nice game of chess?
Wow! We rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a great article overall. I'm glad Carrie fans are being recognized. Even if it doesn't make any difference in the end at least we've done what we can when no other fanbase would speak up. I hope Carrie is proud of us.![]()
Actually, the affects trickle down to other artists as well. A number of artists are being robbed of higher peak positions due to slots taken by non-released and/or non-country songs. I'm sure a number of songs missed being in the top 10 or top 20 or top 30 due to this new BB chart (methodology and being the so-called official chart).
