Bob Dylan at 71: Like a rolling stone?

Dylans had such a huge impact on music in general, Underwood agreed. I grew up on country music and hes such a great storyteller, and that fits right in, definitely. Hes one in a million.

Interesting example of Carrie's musical appreciation. A significant proportion of Bob Dylan's work is considered Country by most Roots fans, and his latest album "Tempest" currently sits at number 3 on the AMA's official Airplay chart (which isn't one of Billboard's, Lol)

The phrase "Rolling Stone" was almost certainly taken from the blind Texan singer/songwriter, Leon Payne's late 1940s classic - which is a defining "anthem" for the Roots community (though usually in the slightly later cover by Hank Williams, which was probably the one Dylan referenced)
Dylan adored Woody Guthrie - and Leon Payne's mixture of Honky Tonk and Western Swing had at least as much influence on the development of Oklahoman Country Music as the more sugary "Nashville Sound".
