I know enough about Carrie to know where she stands on Country Music - and that's good enough for me. I don't see her attitude to being an advocate for the music, or to marketing or remixing, as anything like Shania Twain's.
    That difference is striking too.

I get that you folks are tired of it, but I was just noticing it was one thing that got over the top praise in the review. Something that is familiar goes a long way towards comforting someone on the fence. The covers that she does, whether it be country, rock or something inspired by local musicians, it draws them into the music. ITYS did win a grammy with RT so it is familiar. Someone new to Carrie would not know WAW. Most people at a concert want to know the songs to sing along. Just my uneducated opinion.

I never get tired of ITYS. IT is one of the few soft, traditional country moments of her set, and her voice is lovely on it.

That is why I wanted WAW on the set. That song really shows the cry in her voice.

I think the cover song should be changed --"Sweet Emotion" doesn't suit Carrie's voice .

Ita. WAW would not engage newcomers. Once it's a hit then she can add it to her setlist but not until that time. Don't you guys remember SWISLY in the PO tour.... no matter how much you guys loved that song it was a concert mood killer for sure.

I hate to admit it-- but SWISLY did not translate well live on the PO tour. Of course we loved it as die hards. But the crowd seemed to not know the song and was not that into it.

Perhaps if it had been a single and they knew the song, it would have gone over better.

I agree. I love the song-- and Carrie does well on it but I think I prefer Carrie on the GNR covers, etc-- or a different Aerosmith song. Carrie did great on it when with Steven Tyler for the CMT Xroads--- but I am not sure if this is the right cover for her without Steven. She could do any other Aerosmith song like Crying or Dream On, etc-- but Sweet Emotion doesn't really have that many lyrics, so I am not sure if I like it as much as her GNR covers.

But I still do think Carrie does a good job on the cover. It is just not my favorite for her to do without Steven.

I am dying to find out when Carrie will do that duet with Aerosmith live for the first time.

I hope she changes Sweet Emotion to another cover song before December !

Thanks for posting - really interesting to read how we all like different things as he didn't seem to care for the blue truck in PO tour and I loved it.

I thought he was saying the blue truck was a good idea and the traveling stage was even better.
Anyway thanks for the scans abbyjones.

She should do a different cover ever month.

    September: Aerosmith
    October: Guns N' Roses
    November: Skid Row
    December: Motley Crue
