Carrie Underwood says 'American Idol' should go country

“But I do think it would be wise to have a country person in. You look at the track record of ‘American Idol,’ and there’s me and Scotty (McCreery) and Lauren (Alaina) who were the final two. ... There’s obviously a want for it from the ‘American Idol’-watching audience because that’s who they are voting for. So, it makes sense they would have somebody they know and love in as a judge.”

Totally agree with Carrie. The judge they pick should be a person with some experience in the music business

I don't entirely agree...I don't see knowledge/experience in a particular genre as a precursor to being able to discern talent...Take our old pal Mr. Cowell...Detests country music to the core, knows nothing about it whatsoever.

But he was fully able to spot the potential and brilliance of Carrie, even when she's country-ing it up with When Will I Be Loved / Independence Day / When God Fearin... / Sin Wagon, etc.
