And she’s a good Christian girl!
The 2012 double CMT award winner and America’s country sugarrush Carrie Underwood has publically come out in support of marriage equality!!
Carrie recently expressed:
"As a married person myself, I don't know what it's like to be told I can't marry somebody I love, and want to marry… I can't imagine how that must feel. I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people that we want to love.Yes yes yes!! And another one bites the tolerance dust!!
Above all, God wanted us to love others. It's not about setting rules, or [saying] 'everyone has to be like me'. No. We're all different. That's what makes us special. We have to love each other and get on with each other. It's not up to me to judge anybody."
Carrie will obviously upset some of her more conservative fan-base with her respectful attitude towards those who wish to marry their beloveds, but her statement will also hopefully serve as a spark for thoughtfulness, introspection, and critical thinking!
If you believe in God then believe in his love! And don’t allow yourself to be manipulated by what someone or something tells you to believe.
We are utterly Blown Away by you Carrie, honey!
I love this part of what he wrote: "If you believe in God then believe in his love! And don’t allow yourself to be manipulated by what someone or something tells you to believe."
beautifully stated!
and Carrie believes in Love!![]()
Thanks Tee for posting this.
A little disappointed with her comments but she's entitled to it.
I see nothing wrong with what Carrie said. I think her comments were spot on. She didn't mean to offend anybody. She simply said that people should be free to love who they want to love. What's so wrong about that? Good for Carrie! I respect her.
And I think everyone is taking what she said out of context (like so many do with the Bible) - she never said whether she thinks its wrong or not, she never said anything about the morality of any of it - she said that people should be free to love who they want. It's not up to her to judge or condemn someone for their beliefs. As it has been stated so many times before you can't legislate morals. Our laws are based on the 10 commandments - do not lie, cheat, steal, or murder. There is also do not commit adultery, covet your neighbors things and to honor your parents. But there is also to honor God by what we say. I think many people have forgotten that one - in their anger they have not honored God at all!
Time will come when people who love their pets will be allow to marry them and you will hear the supporters ask the same ridiculous question... "What's wrong with that?"
Everyone's had enough time to have their say on this subject.
