If you look at Clark's and Underwood's individual album sales, they both have sold more albums than the other winners combined. Eight other seasons' worth of winners.
COMMENTARY: The cute boy always wins - WAFF-TV: News, Weather and Sports for Huntsville, AL
IMHO, Jessica Sanchez or any girl given a shot at the finale and winning the competition will bring back the show's credibility as a singing competition--not a popularity contest. That a girl with vocals like that can still win over a white guy with guitar. People say, Phillip Phillips is better because he is more of a contemporary artist. So were Lee Dewyze, Kris Allen, Scotty McCreery and David Cook and yet, they didn't sell as much as the female winners. Though Scotty did get to platinum with his debut album and David Cook can actually sing his ass off. It's just it would be very good if a better singer can actually win over a popular performer (who I think will never be supported by his voting fans anyway after the show) like what happened to Carrie and Bo.
I hope Jessica wins!!
Good luck to Jessica and Phillip! They're both talented and deserve every success. Carrie is rooting for them both and she will be attending the finale this week. It's nice that she shows her support! Thank you for posting, Naco1776.
The fact that Carrie & Kelly are the shows biggest all time sellers is just another reason why despite what some on here think there is NOT a conspriacy by the show to get Phillip to win.
Quote from the article: "As an avid defender of the show for 11 seasons now, even I realize it's teetering precariously on the brink of irrelevance as the weeks of a season draw to a close if talented contestants are constantly getting the boot in favor of the token pretty face with an average voice."
My sentiments exactly!! :P
Are either one of these country? Sorry haven't been watching
