Carrie Underwood on Her Fans: ‘They Made Me’

It’s been nearly seven years since Carrie Underwood was crowned the winner of the fourth season of “American Idol.” Since then, she’s racked in a slew of No.1 hits, earned platinum albums, sold out arenas across the country, and won countless awards. Even though Underwood has quickly become one of country music’s biggest superstars, she has not forgotten where she came from.
“I’m in a unique position,” Underwood says. “You know, most other artists, it’s like they work hard, they get a record deal, and they put out an album, and then, the steam rolls a little bit more, and then they gather fans along the way. I came into this music industry in a different way through ‘American Idol,’ and I feel like I’m an elected official, often, because they voted me in. They voted for me.”
“I still get people coming up to me all the time saying, ‘I voted for you! Oh, my gosh, it’s been so great to see everything that’s happened in the past seven years,’ or little kids saying, ‘I’ve listened to you ever since I was a baby,’ and I’m like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I’m old now,’ but it’s been really, really great to have that support from the beginning,” she continues. “They made me. They put me where I am, literally, through their votes and through their support and through them buying the albums afterwards. And I know there have been so many that have really hung in there and really been there since the beginning.”
Many of those fans who have been there since the beginning are part of Underwood’s fan club. She always make a point to make them feel special. In addition to hosting a yearly party during the CMA Music Festival, Underwood also gives her fan club exclusive blogs and news.
“We do our fan club stuff, and it’s like, oh, my gosh, it’s the sixth year, you know,” she says. “This is the sixth year of the fan club. There are people, a big chunk of people, that have been there since the first year, and that means a lot.”

Actually yes......she's the one who gets the credit......not us......we just helped.......her amazing voice.......and Carrie just being her sweet humble self did the rest.......there are so many cookie cutter artists that wouldn't be here without shows like Idol and votes from the fans.......guess what you do not see those people.......there's so many other Idol winners who are rarely ever heard from.......or who disappeared years ago..........our sweet Carrie is not one of them........she's not SWSRN who's here by pure luck only.......she deserved to be here!!!!!
