Carrie Underwood Likes to Look Sexy for Hubby Mike Fisher : People.com

Carrie Underwood has been married for nearly two years, but making the effort to look good for hockey-pro hubby Mike Fisher hasn't gotten old.

"I want to look sexy for him," the country starlet, 29, tells Self magazine in its April issue. "And I appreciate that he wants to look nice for me, too."

And it sounds like her efforts are working.

"I get texts from Mike when I'm on a red carpet that read, 'You're so hot,' " Underwood says. "I like that. Words of affirmation mean a lot to me."

Although there are times when Fisher, 31, questions the short length of some of his wife's wardrobe choices, Underwood says, "He would never tell me I can't do or wear something or make me feel bad."

Even so, Underwood says, "I’m a married lady now, so I try to be respectful of my husband.

But life with her significant other isn't entirely flawless for Underwood, who told PEOPLE in September that having a husband is better than people warned.

"[Mike] would rather go out to restaurants than eat at home," she griped. "It makes me mad! I really enjoy cooking and eating together at home. If he's watching TV and I'm cooking, I'm like, 'Hey, you're being lazy, come help!' "

the songs they're performing. So, as much as I like her attitude towards her husband, I think she should just do what she wants as far as her career is
concerned. He can deal with it. I'm sure she doesn't tell him how to play hockey, so vice versa should apply.

Having said that, I have to admire Carrie's "old school" way of looking at her marriage. She's definitely one of a kind. He's a lucky man.
I'll be betting on this marriage to last a very, very long time.

I'm sure they can find a compromise that works for both of them. It's obvious from pictures that she dresses much more conservatively in her personal life than she does on stage or for official events. I admire the fact that she made the point that it's not about control but about respecting his feelings but in the end making her own decisions.

I do like the comment that Mike wants to look nice for Carrie too. Besides the fact that it does show reciprocal love and respect - and I'm pretty sure Carrie really means when Mike does take the time to look "good" (I'm can't think of many other hockey players who dress that well when they are not either in the public eye or on the way to the stadium for a game) it does sound like Carrie likes when Mike is in playoff mode and "scruffy" LOL...
