Great article! Photos/video at site, too.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Fashion and country music came together Tuesday night to benefit school students all across Middle Tennessee.
Carrie Underwood wowed the crowd at the annual fundraiser for the Nashville Symphony's education outreach programs.
Before Underwood took the stage, Nordstrom transformed the Schermerhorn into a runway show that rivals those of New York, London or Paris. The department store had a chance to show off Oscar De Le Renta's fall collection.
All the money raised at the event will help bring arts to the classroom, something Underwood said she didn't have, but wishes every student did.
"It was such a small school, we weren't really, given culture, you know, and I think as a young person, a child, a teenager- that would've been so wonderful and so inspiring," she said.
The event was expected to raise between $100,000 and $150,000 for the education outreach programs.
