He brings up an interesting point, what if she went Pop, where would she be today? Just something interesting to ponder. Either way, glad she went country as I feel that's definitely where she belongs.

Not even just a pop star, bc I think she wouldnt have had the success if she wouldve gone straight to pop, but if she would have chosen to remix all her music, imo, she would be on a Katy Perry, Gaga level imo. Her type of music ala BHC, or CC or UI could have potentially done even better on top 40, compared to taylor. Carrie would easily be on shania's level. Instead, she's chosen to be on Rebe's level, which is even better

Agree completely. Although I love Shania, I would much rather Carrie to be on Reba's level.

haha I love Shania too, Reba seems to have more of a status as a country legend tho.

Love Brad, and he is right. She could have been bigger then any of those pop posers if she wanted to. Her voice is better and she is prettier. lol

Agree with you and I'm so thankful she has Brad's true friendship...I'm sure it helps Carrie alot to know Brad cares about her so much.

I love that Brad said this. I always get tired of hearing people say that Carrie is "too pop" or "not genuinely country". The girl fought hard to remain country, and it's nice to see some amazing artists like Vince Gill and Brad Paisley speak up about that.

I still don't understand why people in the industry would complain that Carrie is pop and yet say nothing about TS, Lady A, and others?

Exactly. That's why it always bothers me so much. Carrie makes a distinct effort to remain country and not sell out to pop, yet she is consistently lumped in with others who willingly remix their music and actively promote to a pop format.

That was very nice of Brad, I love how complimentary he is of Carrie. And I think he's right, if Carrie wanted to be pop I think she could easily be as big as Taylor used to be because she's such a great singer and could sing anything, and her music would be great too, but I'm so happy she's stayed loyal to country music
