    "Remind Me" Duet Certified Gold

    "Remind Me" Duet Certified Gold

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood's duet, "Remind Me," has been certified as a gold single for 500,000 digital downloads. Paisley co-wrote the song with Chris DuBois and Kelley Lovelace. The track comes from Paisley's latest album, This Is Country Music, which was certified gold in June for shipments of 500,000 copies. Paisley will launch his European tour on Aug. 17 in London, while Underwood's next concert will be Aug. 12 in Ottawa, Ontario. As previously reported, Paisley and Underwood will co-host the CMA Awards on Nov. 9 in Nashville.

Bought another copy tonight- mostly so I don't have to listen to the intro of the next song and be really confused for 5 seconds.

Did they release one without the little clip at the end?

Well, you could have just edited the end in itunes anyway. But more copies bought is always a good thing

Just a few interesting facts regarding sales for Brad's album and RM.

    1) RM total sales should be around 600K this week.
    2) The total sales for Brad's album will be at about 400K this week.
    3) Neither of the previous singles from Brad's album, TICM and OA, have been cerified Gold. And in both cases, they did not have to compete with sales of Brad's album since both were released as singles prior to the album release.

I'm confused by this, brad's album has sold well over 400k in total sales it went gold weeks ago.

^album certifications are based oin shipments, not actual sales like singles

so there have been over 500k of brads album shipped to store...making it gold, but it has only sold just under 400k
RM has passed the half million mark making it gold.

i didn't say anything about remind me, and the certification is for albums sold to retail, it is still a sale, that's how they make money lol

^yeah i know you didnt, but i was just making the point that single sales are different just to clear it up.

and yeah its still a sale, but the sales figures we get each week are for what the consumers buy
hence why certifications are not actual sales, but shipments to stores

I think i answered that for you, but I may not have understood your question...

right but i'm not sure if those sales numbers account for all standard sales and digital albums, that number still seems really low to me considering it sold close to half that amount in it's first week. guess i just find it hard to believe lol

^no, that number does account for everything. The album has only been out 10 weeks or so and it dropped out on sales fast.

shame i thought his sales would have gone up since his tour started and all the great publicity he's been getting about the album, i probably expect too much but that number just sucks IMO

^well his weekly sales have been pretty good actually. Dont forget he has never really been a huge sales monster to begin with and this isnt the holiday shopping season. Overall though, considering that and the fact of the "dead" album sales in general, he is holding up pretty well
