Big voice doesn't mean everyone will find it mesmerizing though. Leona Lewis is a good vocalist... but I find her tone too generic and boring as well. Christina Aguilera is at the opposite end for me. Overdone, oversing, overdramatic.

No way. Carrie is an outstanding vocalist now, but I'd actually argue Pia had more range/power than Carrie on Idol.
I agree everyone has different tastes, but she is an outstanding vocalist. She could keep up with Carrie any day of the week.

I'm not disagreeing, she has a phenomenal voice, but it takes more then that to be huge. I dont think she will have huge success. Honestly, I don't think anyone from Idol will have huge success anymore, because nowadays Idol just wants two things; money and ratings. They will market the performers how they think will make THEM money. The songs they choose for them are cheesy and I wish they would let them do their own thing after Idol instead of forcing them to make the record THEY want them to make. I think a lot of contestants would have found bigger success if they got to choose their own path after the show. Carrie is the exception because she put her foot down (at least AFTER Some Hearts which was obviously Idol's choice) and said she is making records SHE wants to make. SH is completely different then any of her other albums...I dont even listen to SH anymore because I feel like it isn't really her. But thats JMO.
