Carrie Underwood Spills Some Tea On Her Upcoming Masterpiece

******There is a video so make sure to click the link******

Carrie Underwood has begun work on her next album, a follow-up to 2009’s “Play On.”
“It's shaping up, at its earliest form, to be very eclectic," she says. "I always look for vocally challenging songs. It'll be me, but hopefully more progressive."

The most commercially successful “American Idol ” so far was the subject of a Q&A Monday afternoon at Billboard’s Country Music Summit. In addition to talking about her album, she talked about “American Idol’s” Scott McCreery and Lauren Alaina. She also busts on her buddy Brad Paisley , with whom she recorded a duet for his new album. “He’s my guy, he’s my match,” she says of her Country Music Assn. Awards co-host Paisley.

Underwood plans to write more songs for this set than she has in the past. She adds she carries a notebook around with her 24/7 so she can jot done whenever inspiration hits. “I have songs that are very different in our little back pocket right now... there are songs that are more spiritual, I have songs that are a little bit darker...a few more folkie-type songs that.. are so beautiful with the guitar... It’s exciting to put them all together and see what you’ve got.”

While they wait for new solo Underwood, fans can hear Underwood duetting on both Brad Paisley and Randy Travis ’s new albums.

So many things about this excite me.

Folksie, that are so beautiful with guitar
    Darker
    spiritual
    eclectic

It sounds like Carrie is going to once again ignore the critics and and follow her heart.
    I am so glad.
I have so much more respect for that.
We don't need another ML. We don't need another TS.
Carrie Underwood singing emotional material that challenges her voice is exactly what she needs to do to stand out.
    Love you Carrie. Can't wait.
I know I am gonna love it!

When Carrie said she'll do folky type, vocally challenging and darker songs, I immediately thought of "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" by Celine =))) (haha! I don't know why!) It's dark, it's vocally challenging, two elements that Carrie loves hahaha! the excitement is making me dizzy! I can't wait for the 4th album! I have a feeling that it will stand the test of time!

What I hope is there will more attitude and sass and attitude like Before He Cheats and Last name and even another Jesus Take The Wheel. And it sounds like the 4th album will be something like that!!!

    Sweetened or unsweetened tea?

I think that this album will be the EQUAL of or even better than Some Hearts. Carrie is due for another huge album.

It sounds like we may get a good mixture again. I don't mind, her albums are the only ones that I can listen to straight through and for months on end, so who cares about concept.

If Oklahoma Wind is on this album(really hope so),maybe it will be very close to what we had heard as a demo.It does not have to be "embellished" very much at all. Almost perfect as it is.

Me three! I actually think the line about "spilling tea" makes no sense in this context.
I can't wait for Carrie's next album though, it sounds so amazing! Dark, eclectic & folky, so diverse.

I get bored really easy with an album where the songs all sound the same. I really dig Brad Paisley and Keith Urban but they are stuck in a rut and their albums are mostly the same. I am not digging Jason A's new single. My friends and I think it is lame. What he is trying to portray in his vocals is NOT coming across and sounds drudge. I hope Carrie NEVER makes albums like that. We love the diversity---and the fact that no matter what she does it sounds great.

Spiritual, Darker, Vocally Challenging? YES PLEASE
Folky? Please NO. That won't be helping at all to improve album sales let alone keeping the fans happy :/

“I have songs that are very different in our little back pocket right now, trying to figure out what kinda album I want to make. There are songs that are more spiritual, I have songs that are a little bit darker. I have a little bit of everything in my pocket right now. A few more folksy type songs that I’m really loving that are just so beautiful with a guitar…it’s exciting.”

“It’s shaping up, at its earliest form, to be very eclectic. I always look for vocally challenging songs. It’ll be me, but hopefully more progressive.”

    Spiritual / Dark / Folksy / Eclectic / Vocally Challenging / Progressive
