Carrie's new movie starting out with a bit of controversy

Oh sheesh, the movie's barely started shooting and already "Soul Surfer," the movie Carrie Underwood is set to have a part in, is having a little controversy.
See one of the rumored stars is Pierce Brosnan's son, Sean, but Pierce has taken up arms against the movie makers saying that Sean is not in the movie. I've gotten word that Sean is/was supposed to play Bethany's (the girl who lost her arm to a shark) brother, Noah, who happens to be Carrie's character's boyfriend. This means that Sean would be Carrie's boyfriend in the movie. Well I had gotten an email saying that Sean has been in Hawaii filming already. Carrie is set to hit Hawaii this week to film her scenes according to People.com.
Well enter Pierce Brosnan who says his son did audition but was turned down flat because he was too old for the part. He says, "There's a [film] company who are out of line, using his name to attach to this picture. Sean does know Jack's (Jack Nicholson's daughter is also in the movie) daughter but he is not doing the movie. He's really very upset by it because they're using his name."

The actor continues, "They even said that he was too old to play the part. The story was in the Daily Mail [newspaper] and in Variety. We know where they live, so we'll sort it out!"
Hmm. Well Sean is 26 and Carrie is 26 so does that mean Carrie looks younger than Sean. Does Sean's dad have no clue what he's talking about? Did Sean actually try out for and get turned down for a different part than the Noah part? Is Pierce just trying to get people talking about the movie because talk equals viewers which in turn equal dollar signs?
Guess we'll all see when the movie hits theaters this summer.

Starring as the boyfriend...Pierce Brosnans son. (we'd like to give him full credit, but we just can't remember him at all).
